Double take mirrors have helped my Norden, they made a big difference 🏆

Hi Dave, I wonder if the double take mirrors don’t vibrate (as much) as the OEM mirrors. What is your experience? Thnx.
@Texastoo25 ай бұрын
Hello. I do not remember the stock mirrors vibrating that much. I may be wrong. The double takes do not vibrate much at all.

I solved my buffeting problems by going with some barkbusters. no more buffeting after with original windscreen and mirrors.

Figured out the gas smell. There is a cover un front of the fuel cap. There are two vent lines up top. The one on the left goes to the chsrcoal cannister. If the left one is kinked, it will prevent proper venting and cause the tank to pressurize and fuel will come out of the overflow and vapors on the right. When you moved stuff around it probably fixed the kinked hose.

I have been riding since the mid 70's. From my experience it's wise to check bolts and screws on a regular basis. It's part of normal motorcycle maintenance. Especially after riding off-road. Motorcycles vibrate...... things come loose. My Husqvarna 701 Enduro vibrates fasteners loose all the time. What ever the brand...... I would make it a habit to check things over before riding. My two cents...... stay safe.

I put a 5” taller windscreen on mine. Problem solved. I haven’t had any problem with the shock. No complaints at all with the bike.
I’ve got Barkbusters for hand guards. I like them. How did you get that Cortec tank bag to mount without blocking the fuel tank? I tried them. But I’d have to tank the whole thing off to put gas in it. I ordered a taller windshield, but it’s not here yet. Do those mirrors really help? How do they clip on...to?
@Texastoo22 жыл бұрын
I unclip the front of the tank bag and fold it backwards. It's not too difficult. I saw some windshields on aliexpress but have not ordered one. I hope it works out for you. I think the mirrors made the air a lot smoother. They mount in the same place as the regular mirrors.

@@11breaper68 I’ve ridden and owned a lot of bikes and being on a bike is about the experience in every sense. Bad wind buffeting isn’t, however, an enhancement as I found out on my 2000 Varadero many years ago. The screen was dire and a replacement transformed the bike. One size doesn’t fit all is really my comment.

I am 4 months into my 2022 Norden 901. No problems. All is tight. I am amazed at how easy it is to ride on road and off. I have about 800 miles on it now. My gas cap is hard to close also. It takes two hands to lock it in but it seals up good. Tranny was slipping into neutral when going from 1st to 2nd when brand new but now it is good. The dealer said to give it some time to break in and it now it is ok. Easy shift is a blast. You can hold the throttle 3/4 of the way open and click up through the gears as fast as your foot can move. She takes off quick. Motor is loosening up now, seems to be getting faster. Never thought I would be riding wheelies at the age of 60. It is half the weight of my new Road King. The Road King is better on the highway but it has been collecting dust since I got the Norden. It is a hoot to ride. Great in the desert and forest! Worth it even if I have some future light mechanical work. The bike is amazing. Warning: when in the dirt, make sure to set the bike for off road and turn off the rear anti-lock. If tire is spinning in loose sand or on a steep hill, the computer can get conflicting signals and stall in street mode. Not good in precarious situations. Take my advice and switch to the correct mode. I learned the hard way!
@Texastoo22 жыл бұрын
Totally agree. Glad you don't have any problems. I was going fishing and my fishing pole was blowing off the bike. I had to pull over to tie it back down. The road was very busy. So when I was getting back on the highway, I twisted the throttle and could not believe how easily the front end lofted up in the air. It's a fun bike but the problems I had have left a bad taste.

Wow , expectations. It's all about your background and what you want to do with the bike. As an old desert racer, I decided to give up my Ktm EXC 500 and 790 Duke for something more suited to my advancing years. I love my choice of the Ktm 890 R. Fixing something that comes loose on a dirt bike is second nature to me, I don't even think about it as an issue.
