Out of my 12 roosters i’ve ever had only ONE has been nice to me and my hens. The most aggressive ones were my 2 of my 3 RIR boys, my 2 cuckoo marans, my 3 pekin hybrids, my Amberlink, my Ayam Cemani, and one of my BB Red Old English Game Bantam. my nicest is my oldest OEGB and one of my RIR. Every single one except two OEGB has been turned into soup. My meanest OEGB is become sunday night chicken.

If you don't have to make a ton of them, an egg steamer works perfectly and much less hassle. I think the pin hole made before steaming does the trick. We discovered this by accident.

We are not cruel. We are eating the cleanest, most healthy food we can provide for our family. The birds were raised on pasture and fed a great diet. They lived a very good life and then were harvested for the purpose of nourishing our family. They were not raised in tiny cages and fed garbage like conventional meat. If you eat meat at all, I would implore you to research where and how your food is raised.

Thanks for this! Just got my first milk cow yesterday and will be milking later this morning for the first time. I was a little nervous about the milking by hand correctly! Since she is in a very new place I am not sure how calm she will be and I don’t want to agitate her further.
