I'm such an idiot. I kept wondering why I recognized the actor that played Gul Madred and only just realized that Warren also played Chancellor Gorkon.

The cardassian has a point; peace and spirituality are fine things, but they, along with other moral limits, are immediately thrown to the curb once your stomach is empty

Q knew what was going on here. He didn’t intervene. His interactions with Jean Luc, (in my opinion) gave Picard strength here. The cardassians are powerful- though no way near as powerful as the Borg (or Q ) Everything Jean Luc says is the ultimate in understanding true freedom vs dictatorship for all time .

It just occurred to me that Gul Madred's daughter very likely did face starvation after the Dominion War, and as a direct consequence of the military dominating Cardassia.

What separates this from a modern TV show is a show today would have music in the background that tells you how to feel; this just has a low industrial hum in the background, which is ominous and positively frightening

“When children learn to devalue others, they can devalue anyone.” When I first heard these words on television, I was gobsmacked at the depth of their sentiment. Growing up, my folks would always speak about other races and their…idiosyncrasies. It took me years to realize this superiority complex they were trying to instill in me. A parent’s influence on their child is substantial, with every action and inaction they experience. Now I see that superiority on display on the public discourse, unabashed and unafraid. No consequences to being racist and bigoted. Devaluing people who are doctors, scientists, and otherwise productive and peaceful members of society, all because they are a different race. I see humanity still has much further to go to live up to our ideals.

I truly wish I HAD been taught right from the start to devalue others according to a set of criteria instead of having been force-fed with misguided ideas of people-person-ness and "everyone deserves a second chance.". It would have saved me a not so small amount of troubles in my life. Still, with a delay of many years I learned just that after all and my life remarkably improved ever since I began to be more ..... Cardassian. And Klingon and Romulan, too.

I saw it again. A whisper made this after my death. Our cardassians empire. It's on the martian list. When all is open and ended whispered. I'm not talking about heart I'm talking about dying into what only I see. I'm talking about real cloaking. Jump up. We can't fight wounds I've created before. Why can't I lose as us. It must hurt I place creation there. Our dream to be made peace with. Fair is a different cardassians you're my second now. Fuck you. I've recovered and now placed all our lost rolls by espionage and I want you to align and record and place them to my concerns so we can't stop playing this listening shit we agreed to. A father doesn't promise an end in sight a father says when all adults are there for children I won't waste enough truth I'm alive.

I should have studied acting. I have a problem with speaking extemporaneously with others. I can only be coherent for a few seconds; then my words turn to gibberish. Other times, when I know what I want to say, and the words don't want to come out, I start to convulse, with an anger that builds up in my soul, until I force the words out. Then the anger subsides. But I often read out scripture in my church. And afterwards the others always tell me how well I speak. I would so love to be able to speak like these two. One of my favourite movies is "The King's Speech."
