Anyone else thing that the uniforms kinda make them look like naked fat guys, especially from far away? No? Just me? I'll see myself out.

I'm just now watching this. Why in the world were y'all playing so soft in the warm up time? SMH. Y'all should've been playing as if we're about to do the show. SMH. That's wild.

Amazing sound and clean beats! But I really miss Peterman/Hannum books. I miss the crown sounds that I meet. Feels like I’m listening BK or BC here.

I think it's a hot topic. That for the past 7 or 8 years they've had a specifc, intentional style under the team of writers, directors, and techs like Hannum, Schack, etc. that people let 2013's line determine the entire skill of percussion for years to come which is a general blind statement and inaccurate, and doesn't give credit to the hard work that the lines the years after did. 2016 was clean. So was 17, 18, and 19, 20, 21, and 22. I have a lot of respect for MJ and his different angle to challenge this drumline with. It sounds different and looks different. Different doesn't mean bad. It's just new. And crown is handling this change very well.

Regardless of how this sounds, I already think their hands look good. A nice uniform approach. Just have to get everyone firing at the same torque into the drums. Excellent start.
@yesorlando056 ай бұрын
Drumlines today are just not as clean as they were in the 90's/2000's, audibly and visually . The random head and other body movements just take away from the visual precision there use to be.
@jonathanspray23626 ай бұрын
I think trading an ounce of visual silence for emotion and storytelling is okay. You need to remember that the people teaching these lines marched the lines you praise. The book is also just different, show me a line pre 2014 that played this style or with even a pinch as much musicality. If you want the activity to stay in the 90s than only watch the 90s.

Hey @yesorlando05, just a heads up: this is a bad drumline comment. *This action was performed automatically.

The activity has advanced, dude. Stop living in the past. Regarding cleanliness of drum lines, that’s objectively wrong. The level of the music has gone up 10x. Remember, there are high schoolers playing harder books than a lot of what they had in the 90/2000s

i probably should've made it unlisted but its alright its not like people will watch that after the first comp
@therealnocommonsense6 ай бұрын
@@deaconmayse That's true, but sometimes not even unlisting the vid will work. A couple of months back I posted a Hebron vid on my 2nd channel and set it to private and it still got taken down. The media teams for these groups are always watching 😭.If you want ur channel to not get terminated I advise waiting until at least the Southwestern Championships before posting full runs. They start to get a little more lenient around then, as long as it's not a flosports recoding.

Blend between sections/players sounds leagues ahead of last season, especially this time last year. The increase in note density is really nice to hear too. As an alum, it would’ve been dope to learn from Mike and co.
