i feel the same, though maybe for different reasons. deep down i know i don't belong here. the thought of dying gives me peace, something to look forward to. it's a strange sense of calm. not really tall, rich, handsome, or interesting so i don't get involved with dating. i like the jobs i do but it's never gonna be enough to make a comfortable living, so that's something i have to accept. so much of life revolves around money, consumerism, status, wealth, all these superficial things. after awhile you just get numb to everything and you just feel apathy and anhedonia

I’m 19, turning 20 now but I went through the same thing around 16-18. It was horrible. Depression makes you feel like nothings worth it - the chemicals in your mind will make you think there’s nothing in the future. You WILL have that future. You will get married and have children, and a beautiful home. Just because you haven’t found it yet, doesn’t mean it’s not there. 🤍🎀🧸

I've learned to have dreams other than love. I had a bunch of detailed book ideas decades ago, so last year I started writing. Have over 3,000 pages written so far for 13 books. Most intense work on the first 3 I want to get published - 2 of them are 3rd drafts working towards 4th. There is a KZbin channel I watch and one of his tag lines is "The only one stopping you from doing what you want to do is you". June 1 of 2023, I took that to heart, got out my 7 book ideas (4-book sci-fi series, standalone sci-fi novel, contemporary fiction novel, and a non-fiction book) Now the 4-book series has evolved into an 8-book series, I compiled my 157 best poems (out of a thousand) into a collection and added a short story collection. (I would note I have a regular job as a software engineer and garden a lot in my spare time, so my writing is done using time that most people would be wasting on television shows and social media). Find a doable dream and do it. Most people waste huge amounts of time. You can always get more money, but you can't get more time.

I'm 22, coming 23 in 2 days, I've had a lot of relationships, I've dealt with the situations they brought and went through them, thinking I not wanted someone, NEEDED someone, and in my opinion that there mindset was wrong, feeling I needed someone ended me up with the wrong people, hurtful people, which I probably wouldn't have went with if I had a better mindset, the best wat to have a relationship isn't search for it or need it, but just when an opportunity arises with another person, where both have the same feelings, then it can all work out. Don't ever think, you need someone, when you really just want them, and don't compromise yourself or your values to just be with another person.

I'm from the algorithm. I totally get it. I'm in my mid 20s and I've battled these thoughts for ages. Dreams and purpose can be handed down to you or it can be made. I've been single for years and years, and I get my purpose from my relationships with my friends and reflection on all the odds I've defied to get to where I am now. I made a lot of mistakes in love, and I made a lot of wonderful choices by myself, and they only became my dreams after I lived through it. You live in a world that expects people to live a certain way. Find love, be attractive, be rich, be famous. But the reality is that these things don't always happen, and if they do, they don't happen the way Hollywood or books or music describes it. Its messy, rare, volatile, confusing. Everyone is just coping - coping with their past, coping with the unknown of the future. Dreams will come and go. Thats all anyone can do. As a human, you're hardwired to worry, to remember the bad things. It is a deliberate effort to remember when you were happy, and therefore, it is a deliberate effort to seek it. Even those given a purpose by others will seek their own eventually, so take each day as it comes and build yourself as the person you would love to fall in love with, so that one day, you'll look back and realise you did it. Really rooting for you.
