I hope this briefly summarizes the video: Addiction is fronto-cortical (conscious willpower rational thought and action system/region) override by the midbrain (our unconscious goal-pursuit, or desire-attainment, system). Your brain is designed to do this in times of need, ie. getting a cup of water when thirsty. However, in addiction, the desire or craving repeatedly "pops up" of its own accord, it is unwanted by the addicted individual, and, if acted on, is detrimental to their life or long-term goals. Addiction, regardless of its particular manifestation - whether it be heroine, cocaine, sex, anger, etc. - is best (or maybe even: can only be) combated by voluntary activation of the frontal cortex during midbrain override (craving). Put more practically: Your addiction will manifest itself initially as a craving/temptation, this is intrinsically uncomfortable (at varying levels of severity). This craving can be combated by actively refusing it, this will strengthen the cortex, and pursuing something more [subjectively] meaningful (coping). Doing this in conjunction with self-development and/or religious transformation can radically speed up the process of addiction recovery.

You really need to get to know what gaslighting truly is, evil... No love in it... Unprofessional, unethical, cruel, and unexceptionable... Study it, research it, learn it. HORRIBLE... Stop using such tactics and manipulations...

Loved the video! Just wanted to throw this out there (totally fine if it's not a good fit!), but I'm a video editor and I sometimes help creators improve distribution by making their content a bit more snackable for viewers. Think catchy intros and outros, or even some engaging short clips! Would love to chat if you're interested.

This is, without a doubt, the most thorough and understandable presentation of addiction I have ever seen. The "matter of factness" and medically supported logic helps anyone who has ever dealth with or been associated with addiction to understand it. This should be a requirement in the education of every single healthcare professional. As a surgeon, I have spent 2.5 years attempting to fully understand the mechanisms involved with addiction that lead to actions that often are unexplainable and non-defensible. These actions are often incredibly uncharacteristic of the person we know and love. Highly advised to watch and send to anyone you know involved in medicine, at any level, as well as those who are stuggling with addiction personally or dealing with someone who is.

God is real, and he is the key. Use the 12 steps. Starting with steps 1-3 are the crucial key to opening a door to a new world. At first, don't worry about who God is, but know he is there to help you.... if you admit step 1, you can begin a new life (or sometimes a life).
