Thank you so much for this. I love micro jammers even if I didn't grow up with them in the 90s. I have watched all your videos on them. To answer your question, yes. I believe the knobs on these are entirely analogue. Instead of digitally controlling the pitch, it has direct control over the chip's clock speed. When dust goes into that potentiometer it becomes pretty inconsistant. Some IPA might fix it but then again you gotta take it apart and yada yada. As far as I know, this was the only mega jammer they made. My theory is it just didn't catch on but again I'm not entirely sure. . I can't thank you enough for giving more coverage on this series.
@Misguided_Robot27316 күн бұрын
Thanks so much for this! I know a considerable amount about micro jammers so if there's anything you want to know just ask. I'd love to hear each button's riff played all the way through. Your pitch knob could do with a good clean from the inside. I've heard that 100% isopropyl alcohol does a pretty good job at getting these going as good as new, I've gotta clean the boards in a few of my micro jammers.
@jaketheman09116 күн бұрын
Thanks so much for your support, man! I see you cover a lot of vintage toys on your channel as well! Based on your knowledge of Micro Jammers, do you know for sure if Mega Jammers was a thing that didn't really get off the ground? From what I found, when this rockabilly guitar was released, the back of the package that this came in stated, "Collect the entire Mega Jammers and Micro Jammers assortment!" and only showed other Micro Jammers, rather than upcoming Mega Jammers. It's confusing, to say the least. Anyway, I'm glad you appreciate this video, and I hope you also check out my artist interviews 🤘

I have 15 out of the 16 they made and they're awesome! Can you by any chance make a longer video on your Mega Jammer? Dying to know more about that one. These old music toys are just so unique and I love the crunchy sounds they have!

I listened to their 2 albums constantly in the early 90's - it was poignant slacker core for the disenchanted ❤

Well said, and Ian understands that! In his case, I think it was a matter of learning to appreciate both albums over time. It's not easy when things don't pan out behind the scenes as well or as smoothly as you hoped. There are also different energies involved in keeping a relationship as a band together versus a friendship, and I'm excited that Cell is long past the bitter turnout and want to rock again!

I appreciate Rob's holistic and intuitive approach to music and being a musician. He's thought things out enough to come to some pertinent realities musicians face specially these days of selective genre and content. And considering where he lives on the planet it takes titanium ones to do what he's doing. Enjoyed the podcast and the back and forth. His WCC song's content reminds one of a song put out back in '85 hence the desire and the angst lives on. Empty Cemeteries... good one Rob. That's thinking outside the proverbial box. Where have all the flowers gone? @Jake your recent friend request; it's a zombie account and can't log in but receive prompts for some reason. Just a heads up that you were not ignored. Crypticness abounds.
@jaketheman0915 ай бұрын
Yes, you bring up great points, and that's why I equally appreciate Rob's craft. We connected musically as soon as we started talking, and I've really started to appreciate his thematic approaches alongside his stylistic ones. Regarding the friend request, that is very strange that you still receive prompts for an inactive account, but I'm glad you didn't ignore it deliberately. Just know that I sincerely enjoy your work, and am open to collaborating down the line!
