Caught Steve with Eric Clapton at the Hollywood Bowl few years back. Think I pissed off my girlfriend, because I closed my eyes and tried to absorb the entire evening. Phenomenal show. Sorry Janet.

Bert Berns wrote this song and as far as I know, produced the record, and managed to get Van to do things his way for five minutes. Here on stage, this band which was no doubt gigging all the time, don't capture the sound of the record, though that guitar solo sounds pretty good. Van is his usual meandering self, doing what the hell he wants. Injecting his version of "feeling" which gets up my nose. Everybody else seems to love it though.

in my neck of the woods, I could have a free Hammond M-111 in my home by tomorrow. I don’t need two but a lot of people might enjoy having one too.

Historical footage of one of the greatest early rock classics at a turning point in popular music history, I dare say, as played live by its originators in the face of an hysterical audience of fans.

John van Hurst! I just discovered this during an online search today and I want to thank you so much for taking the time to put this on KZbin. I truly appreciate it!!! It sounds really good and you know what you're doing obviously. Ironically I'm getting the original demos for this album ready to upload to Spotify etc because they sound in some cases even better (stronger performances) and I own those recordings. Ariola owns these masters and I doubt they will ever upload to Spotify. But the interesting news is there are three more La Seine albums I recorded that were never released and now I get upload them to Spotify! Thanks again... you made my day!
