I love that he has resurrected this song. It was beautiful in Mary Poppins, and it is equally so. It's very much like him to choose a song about love and compassion.

Puddles Pity Party, the giant white faced clown from AGT, did nearly as perfect of a version. God I want this cd.

I thought Puddles version was better it had had more sincerity in his expression

@@katesmith3034have you seen the live video of this show? I think it was taken down. The pain on Glyn’s face… just wow. Like he looks like he’s agonizing to deliver the words. With that said, I agree about Puddles’ delivery being amazingly expressive. I’d put them neck and neck for me. I also find Puddles’ version of I Who Have Nothing so moving, especially accompanied by such a unique instrumental arrangement. I’ve not seen the video, if there is one, but the occasional laugh in the background throws me. Two underrated artists. Check out Mike Geier’s non-Puddles stuff too. He’s a talented artist, though I love his Puddles persona most.

@@Skunk6977 Thanks for the info, I didn’t see the video and a song like this needs to be seen performed, I did see Puddles version on video though so it’s out there 👍

@@katesmith3034 I stand corrected. The video is still there, but, at least on my end, it has no audio at this point. It’s not a great recording, possibly a recording of another screen, but it’s all I can locate. I will scour collector sites though, see if maybe there’s a vhs or a dvd for sale in a reasonable range. It’s such a moving performance. It needs to be available to the public. I eventually found the cd with it for like $15 shipped, but most are asking much more.
Glyn has a rich, timborous voice, deployed here with a masterful, percussive vibrato, which along with the hard strikes on the guitar, and the snarls, fit this song perfectly. The lyrics are quite clever, too. This would be fun to break out in front of some of the miserable bastards of the family at a karoake night somewhere... LOL

You killed my love And you did it so thoroughly The effects of this tragedy You’ll just never know You killed my love With admirable expertise Brought it down to its shaking knees And delivered the blow You killed my love A love you call a fantasy I believe that you wanted me And that you were my own You killed my love I wished you knew just how it feels To be ground underneath your heels To be left all alone…. You killed my love Without conscience or sympathy Stripped my heart of its dignity And demolished my pride You killed my love Stabbed it repeatedly How you saver the agony As it fought to survive You killed my love You just stood there and watched it die You’ve committed romanticide Of the highest degree You killed my love But through it all I never cried When you said you weren’t satisfied With an asshole like me You killed my love And no punishment fits the crime It’s the act of a tortured mind You killed my love………

This song is haunting and beautiful and funny and masterfully interpreted by someone who -I'm pretty sure- has walked the talk. I discovered it thru Milo Jones' version, whom as an interesting artist in his own right, has nothing on the original. You blew my mind with your Live at the Medusa lounge Ep. I hope you read this Glyn Styler. You are mind blowing. Thanks philpdamour!
