This was my first time playing the series since the n64 days. A lot of it is still a blur to me but the gameplay still felt really smooth and fun.

@@NatalsVOD Something I realized is that on Hardcore in Turok 2 the little "life force" tokens that give you extra lives are gone. However this is a problem because those are used in the game to hint at some secrets, pathways, and switches and stuff essential to progress in the game. That's why you got stuck for so long in certain areas. Same thing happened to me playing it on Hardcore.

Yah, I just took a look at the vids you were commenting on and a lot of painful memories came rushing back. lol. Game feels good but painful as heck on hardcore :D. I cant wait to get my hands on Turok 3 remaster. Thx for commenting on my vids! appreciate it, cheers

@@NatalsVOD Yeah, I hadn't played these games since about 2000 or so either. Never played Turok 3, but great memories of Turok 1 and 2. I think you should consider doing another replay of Turok 1 and 2 with the Turok+ mods for each. With Turok 1 it adds features from Turok 2 like switching ammo types and gives several guns alt fires. You can also swap certain guns for weapons from other Turok games, such as the Shockwave Weapon can be swapped with the Charge Dart Rifle from Turok 2 or you can swap the Shotgun with the Shredder. It modifies other weapons too. You can get a burst fire upgrade for the pistol or get dual pistols. The Alien Weapon is more powerful and faster, and has an alt fire as as flame thrower. Another great feature of the Turok1 +mod is that you can play on hardcore but set enemies to drop health and ammo, which makes it more fun rather than punishing. Still lethal combat, but you feel rewarded for doing well and don't have to scrounge for ammo all the time. The mod exists for Turok 2 as well; it increases ammo capacities but few items respawn on maps. You can double jump, start with the war blade, and you can get that disc weapon on the second map. Combat is more refined and the pistol can one-hit kill most enemies with a head shot. There is a lot it does. I did run into one bug on the second level with it where a bridge wouldn't drop so I had to no-clip for that, but that was the only problem. I think that for Turok 2 I will do another run myself with that mod on Hard. Hard is more fun than hardcore because you can get extra lives and so you aren't forced to save scum constantly. As well, I think I'll use a cheat to fill up the inventory with the keys and totems, that way all the backtracking is pretty much eliminated. More fun that way.
