She's our granny, our neighbor that we have to listen to as our mother and the one that have permission to discipline us with total support from our parents. I love her, thanks for the memories.

You can clap it in a towel or put it in a tightly covered bowl and vigorously shake it to loosen it up

Thank you for such a beautiful and informative video. God take care of Aunty Evadney, may she rest in eternal peace. I live in Nottingham, and I had a very dear friend Mrs Pat Ivy Robertson who was originally from Guyana. She was such a kind and genuine woman, and she used to make these flaky soft roti. She had a black cast iron Tawa that got very hot! I loved her Curried chicken, Prawn and Cabbage, and Metagee with homemade Casareep sauce. God take of our friends and family who have gone before us. Gone but never ever forgotten. Shaun, Nottingham, UK

Memories!!, Wow!! this is exactly how my Mom use to make it. She is Guyanese, unfortunately she passed away a few years go. I miss her terribly , I miss her cooking and Yes, being the eldest of five, I had to be the one in the kitchen to cook for all when she had to work. I learnt to make Roti ( just like how your Aunt did it! ) and YES , bun my fingers clapping it . Thank you for sharing this video with you and your Aunt, I am sure you miss her terribly , may she be in eternal peace.

This video made me shed some tears. Our elderly are so precious, and often times we don't realize that until they are gone. This is so beautiful and touching to watch. May she RIP!

She’ taught you well , hope you better at it now , the clap part looks ouch. Takes years or practice to get the hands tough enough to not feel the heat .

The Tutorial was very good . The older lady was a good professional teacher and the student passed . She did well in cropping the Roti. That's good I will make some for me. Question how can I get a good Roti cooking pan . I need one. I have a cast iron pan. Is it ok to use it.?

Dear Evadney. May your soul rests in peace. Ameen. I am from Pakistan. Today i made this roti and after clapping the way you did, it came out so soft and smooth. I am a teacher myself and I really loved your teaching style with patience and giving the learner chance and motivation that she will get better with practice. I really loved your accent and the cute cap. Whenever i will make this roti, prayers would come out of my heart for you. May Allah bless you. Ameen
