Stayed in Rosyth every summer holiday with my aunt and uncle who lived on Parkgate and latterly in Woodside Avenue after a few years when they lived in Inverkeithing (Bannerman Avenue). Brings back fond memories.

I was born in 79 , and I'm from Gateshead. But i wish I had a time machine. How I've seen it all change in that short amount of time. God help our children and our great grandchildren. Respect for the video. Propa retro 👍

James, if you have a picture of the catholic school and church, I would really appreciate having a copy as I went to that school in the 50's. Thanks so much, John

I would walk up most of the streets in this video in the late 60's early 70's on my from home in Queensferry Road to Kings Road school The trees were a little more mature but little change between their time and mine. Also visited recently and much would still be recognisable to those around in 1900. You would recognise the Goth today from the photograph in the clip.

Did Andy Penman really play for Everton, Bill? Maybe you could add that to his Wikipedia page..

I loved your video! I was born and raised in Peebles (now live in Australia), but I guess my heart is still there. It was nice to go down memory lane again. Thank you so much!

Well done with the video, just loved it! You captured the happiness of the day. Catherine and Grant look so good together. The dancing at the end just summed up the spirit of the occasion.

Back in the early 1950s there was a lot of wild countryside around Dollytown. There were huge, open shafts. We'd throw stones in and count how long they took to reach the bottom. Deep open quarries with lakes. A tennis court with high, corrugated iron all around it. The rag and bone man. The hairdresser in a back garden shed. The home made TV where all the kids would go in and watch The Lone Ranger. Toboggans on a very steep hill. Deep snow on the way to Camdean school. Kids dying of Polio.

Andy was my boyhood hero when he was with Dundee. He was diagnosed diabetic and that affected his career in the days when treatment wasn't as it is now.He died age 51. What a talent he was! Played in the Everton fist team age 15,but was homesick and signed for Dundee. God bless you Andy P. Great player and a first class bloke.

Lovely stuff, very evocative. I had hoped we could have seen the special worker's train leaving the dockyard for Kirkcaldy.

My book of photos of Rosyth was published in 1999 but sadly went out of print. However it has recently been re-published in a smaller pocket size format and you should be able to obtain that easily. ISBN: 978-1-84588-497-0. Entitled Pocket Images Rosyth by Martin Rogers published by Nonsuch Publishing Ltd. As to withdrawing the video, I am quite happy for it to remain and hope others enjoy it.

Martroge. I didn't realise that the photos came from your book. I was sent them from an old Dockyard Apprentice colleague. Is the book commercially available? as I would like to see more. I can withdraw the video if you want.

I enjoyed the way the video was put together. I recognise the photos as coming from my book of photos on Rosyth! In answer to Strongbow77 the Palace Fish restaurant (Donald's) was owned by another member of the Tazioli family.

Just one question, The Tazzi's were my next door neighbours and had a sweet shop down below. It was The Palace Fish Restaurant that sold the bag of chips floating in vinegar and lots of grease.
