Saw him at the Left Bank Jazz Society in Baltimore early 70's. The place went completely insane. And I mean completely insane. Like Dolphy, unique genius of jazz. Nothing comes close today.

Saw Rahsaan Roland Kirk at the Village Vanguard, sometime between 1964-1966, at least two times. Don't know if the great McCoy Tyner was playing with him. An absolute blast! Will never forget those nights and years. NYC had not as many jazz clubs like in the 1940s-1950's, but there were at least five that I went to often. Village Gate; Basin Street East; Top of the 6s once or twice a week; and the Manhattan Center, big bands. Can't remember at least another club or two, although the hotels in Manhattan, played latin-jazz, on certain nights. Oh! I forgot, Carnegie Hall and Avery Fisher also had jazz concerts, MJQ, MIles, etc.

I wonder how quincy jones would feel if an announcer introduced a symphony as "White Classical music". Hypocrisy.

I like Kirk's style better when he was more concise with his solos, as in his Emarcy. Here he lapses into free jazz stuff and it's not as interesting. His multi-horn segments also seem less precise than previously - they seem sloppy here.

I was at Ronnie Scott’s when this was live. It has been edited virtually out of existence ! The figure who appears at the end is John Cage! Where is the original unedited version. It was much longer and had more sequences including Roland, on his own, shopping in Oxford street! ❤ !

Until the end of times this will be a perfect example of a Model D Mini-Moog going nuts. I remember that feeling. I'm pretty sure Chick went to the producer and asked to do it again for obvious reasons and the producer replied :''What problem? Nah, it's fine'' ;-)
