You have to get it from the dealer. I went everywhere in my town to see if anyone carry the wire. Nobody carry the right gauge wire. So I had to buy from the dealer. If you get lower gauge wire it will overheat your truck will shutoff randomly. If you going to replace it get the same gauge or higher gauge hope it helps.

How can the apu run if the belt is broken? It doesn't make since.

@@JeannetteRyland apu will run as long the alternator is charging. That’s the serpentine belt, running the alternator and the ac compressor. As long as that belt is on the apu will run and once temp sensor sends the signal engine is hot then it will shut it down.

It will run. The water pump belt only engages the water pump. So as your APU runs, your water pump is not. If this is happening you'll get shutdown codes.

I don’t know if the width of the tire changes. Because you can get wide tire or narrow tire. About 200 pounds in weight reduction and lower rolling resistance for high mpg.

I don’t have much experience with reefers because I run all dry vans, but the Utility trailers always seem to hold up much better than Great Danes or any other trailer. One thing that I always spec is a paper spec frame which adds additional crossmembers at 6” apart, and this drastically improves the floor life. Obviously we’re talking about two completely different applications, but I wonder I you could spec a reefer with 6” crossmembers to give the floor some extra support. Another problem I’ve run into with the Great Danes is their standard landing gear is some of the worst out there. The Jost landing gear comes standard on the Utility trailers, and in my opinion is far superior to the cheap junk Great Dane’s come standard with. Good luck!

I did have landing gear issues with Great Dane. Utility holds up better. Only issue I had with utility is the floor don’t hold as much. Overall body of utility trailer age very good. Crossmember hold good but the aluminum duct floor has wood which weakens over time. I bought trailer used so I don’t spec them. But I would definitely get higher rated floor. If it’s thermoking apu you will have fuses at same location. Hope it helps

I had that problem. The fuse is behind the alternator. Check it and see if it is in bad condition.

I have seen refers pushing 40k-50. Just keep in mind when you do -10 or -20 loads. If you got carrier you can probably get away with it but if you sb210 or 230 it’s going to struggle specially 110 f temp outside. When it’s really hot outside avoid doing - temps and do your maintenance regularly. You can probably squeeze another yr or 2 out of the unit.

Carrier 7300 x4 is a fukin junk! Had bunch of wiring problems on 2016 reefer with 5k hours and now I need to replace main micro module that costs $2300 just a module and reprogram and remove and replace will add another 500-600$ so total 3k that I need to spend. It runs so loud and had to replace exhaust manifold twice already. This is my last carrier. Go with Thermo king and save yourselves money and time with family

What kind of loads you haul. Do you get oil changes done some local shop. I had good experience with carrier. Mainly because it used kubota engine with no filter or egr stuff on it. Thermoking sb units are very good and reliable units

Never used the green apu. I have experience with tripac and carrier pro. Tripac you can get aftermarket products and replace parts on the cheap. These thing’s only worth it you can fix it yourself otherwise you end up paying a lot for repairs and don’t save much money sometimes even lose money. Hope it helps. I would stay with tripac if I had to choose.

I have replaced many fuses on the apu units in the fleet. Change the fuse with good brand fuse. Hope it helps

Did you try running with fuel cap off or your fuel filter could be clogged try changing it. If the unit runs with fuel keep off than your fuel tank air check valve valve is clogged. Sometimes keeping the fuel cap loose to allow air to enter helps

I heard new ones have better performance. Driver who driven the c15 and Cummins. Like the Cummins better. They don’t like how paccer climbs the hills. If the truck taking to long to climb hills in long route ca to ny in a round trip there is almost 24hrs difference between paccer and Cummins 500hp. Less stress on the driver and less time on the road

Take pictures of the air valve and show to any trailer company that sales airbag, brakes, and drums. They should be able to help you. If you valve getting stuck try pb blast spray. You probably have moisture in your air tanks

A 750 CCA ( Cold Cranking Amps ) will last longer than a 925 CCA BATTERY . The lead plates are spaced farther apart in the same sized battery case .

No need to apply Teflon tape on the threads , the line ferrule seals it . The return valve should be slightly closed so when pumping the primer so it will build pressure in the fuel system . You may have to crack the fuel nozzle line nuts to remove air from the lines while pumping .

There is a power distribution box mounted on the outside of the firewall , Moderately hit the plastic box with a wooden hammer handle . This will ajar the magnetic switch . You may have to hit it harder in some cases . Freightliner Cascadia Be sure the on / off control switch is turned on , left side of driver’s seat on floorboard .

Way back in the 1970's, we are into super single tires due to government regulations. And compliance mean converting four rear wheels to two super single tires. When the need for replacement arises, we only purchase trucks with single rear tires. All our trucks also have aluminum vans with internal height of at least 6 feet mounted on them. Later the government realizes the extend of damages caused by fully loaded vehicles mounted with single tires on roads, and relax the rules on dually. We converted our trucks to dually and our drivers immediately notice: - The improvements on braking on wet roads. - The stability during strong winds. - The less instances of getting bogged down on muddy streets. - The stability when the truck runs faster than 60 kph (before they can safely run only up to 40kph)

The frame rail are different and also body panel are different also. It’s hard to get parts for vanguard.

@@citizenofearth1000 actually I have 3 of them. 2 already got some body problems (deep scratches over 6 and 13ft.) and both were repaired on the road in regular trailer shop. Try to find another mechanic.

Hows it holding up now? I went with a regular auto stereo amplifier in line 50amp mini ANL fuse. It worked for about six months and finally melted that holder as well.

Blown fuse somewhere. There is fuses where they put the blower motor. If not there is fuse in apu unit itself 40 amp also there is service on off switch in the apu make sur it’s in the on position
