The fact that the piece you sawed off broke in two tells me that rock is serpentine, and not jade. Also chipping pieces off like that with a rock chisel would be impossible if the rock was jade.

Your pieces online are very beautiful, and not pretentious at all. Does the opal come from here in Washington as well? I assume they do, even though supposedly we dont have that type of opal. I have lived here my whole life and never even imagined we had gems so amazing here, let alone the quality and rarity that we do. Thanks for the educational videos. I’m going to try my hand at shaping a small cab

Thanks for the information. I've been hunting jade for a while and can relate to your comment about scarcity. Do you mind if I ask what saw you are using?

You sure this isn't serpinteen jade doesn't chip off like it did when you hit it with the chisel bit unless it was extremely fractured

Hey there!! I live out in Big Sur CA and hunt jade so often and have some really good pieces so its time for me to learn how to polish these guys, so I have a few questions: 1. Can I polish these by hand and if so is 600 and up the best? 2. Do you know how fire resistant jade is ? I would like to use precious metal clay for bezels and bails. 3. Can I pay you for a one on one via zoom maybe to help me through this process perhaps ? Anything helps !!
