Far too stimulating for me. I think you should have made it much more mundane and not showed us quite as much of the subject that we were actually interested in.

Hi! Great video! Any tips for focusing with the 10-24? I feel like it's a bit hard to tell what's on focus even with peaking on.
@judnichols10 ай бұрын
Thanks! I recommend using the + button on the camera to punch in and get a closer view of the focus. Do you often use that?

Hey, I'm torn between this specific lens & the Sigma 18-35 w/ Metabones. How does this perform in lowlight situation? I'm also a run & gun shooter. Could you consider this lens as bearable for travel handheld shooter? I wouldn't mind a heavy gear on strap just as long it isn't really that heavy heavy :(

Beautiful work on the video by the way!!

Thanks! Honestly I have the Panasonic 12-35 ii and I use that the most - specifically because it has stabilization. The beauty of the DZO lens is that it’s parfocal… but I usually only use it on sticks. Still love it tho.

Hello Jud, Aesthetically this is beautiful, technically accomplished but...I wonder? Do you consider yourself a documentary producer? Do you wish to respect as much as possible your subjects and their culture? If so please include where and when this was shot. And if your subjects wish - their names and some background on them. What are the uses/economics of the Dhow? I am living in Mombasa, Kenya trying to learn all I can about the culture. That information would be very helpful. Asante Sana! Megan

My apologies. It was shot in Zanzibar and it was shot right around the time I uploaded it. For better or worse, I was unable to communicate with the fisherman. I met one who offered me a chance at riding from one port to the other. This isn’t so much a survey piece as it is an experience captured. With more time and effort I will be sure to include such details. Thanks for your question.

My only comment would be where you say "it's easy to forget that though the world is bad, it used to be so much worse" is quite juxtaposed against the seeming goodness and contentedness of the scene, and doesn't match up. I would've said "it's easy to forget that although the world can be bad, it used to be so much worse." Great video, looking forward to more of your keen eye!

Recently traveled to Belize. I felt that I had a similar response. Really just blown away by the beauty of the people. A humble gracious place in the world. Fantastic excursion to Lamanai. (meaning: submerged crocodile)The ancient looms large. How do humans forget? We can't have forgotten. It is somewhere. I have heard Native America weavers talk about relearning their art after cultural loss say, "I just think of my ancestors and let it come thru my hands." It's somewhere.

The government should press the tourism industry for $$$ to build proper waste management; this is very sad. I'm sure the locals aren't even aware of the real health concerns they're facing.

This seems reasonable.

This is so shockingly disgusting, not in a judgemental way towards these locals, but towards the shameless hotels and tourism industry that are willingly contributing to this without a shred of responsibility for their actions. Thanks for documenting and sharing, I'm glad I discovered your channel during the protests in Minneapolis.
