Ricky, Thank you for continuing to share the gospel of Jesus Christ in your shows. Powerful testimony. I heard it last year too when I was in the crowd at the Birchmere. God is using you in a powerful way.🙏❤️

The fiddler needs to learn how to play to fit the song. He sounds like he's trying to play all he knows in his fiddle break.

@jimmatthews6110 Just because you know doesn't mean you have to play it. Any good seasoned musician will tell you that. Playing in a band is not a contest. It's about playing to compliment the song and the singer.

There are of course two fiddlers here, with some great twin harmony work - for example on 'Uncle Pen.' Good enough for Ricky Skaggs!🙂

Magnificent to have PS reflect on the lyrics of this amazing song. He does not explain the meaning of the lyrics themselves, but describes the writing process, or better, how the lyrics "came to him". Like he did not really understood it, or planned things ahead, but somehow there are logical connections between parts and the final output is just a masterpiece.

I was lucky enough to be at this show. At one point he talked about asking family and friends whether or not he should learn the “Kid Charlemagne”solo note-for-note. They told him in no uncertain terms that it was a really stupid question. He then asked the guitarists in audience how many had learned the solo from “Kid Charlemagne.” I was among the many who proudly raised their hand. I had only been playing for about three years when “The Royal Scam” was released. I was at work when my favorite progressive radio station debuted the album. When it got to the solo section, I stopped dead in my tracks. That solo totally changed my musical direction. It took me years to finally perfect. I play my way through that masterpiece nearly every day. During the show, I wasn’t sitting close enough to see the brand name on the headstock, but it became evident that it wasn’t a Gibson. After the show I got to talk to his guitar tech, who confirmed that it was indeed a Sire, and that Larry had to retire his 335 because the neck was so worn down that it was unplayable. He said they had to do lots of tweaking to the Sire to get it playing the way Larry wanted it to. Not long after that show I ordered a Sire 335, but decided to try the one with P90s, as I already had a really nice Gibson model. The sound jumps out of that Sire. It’s among the few guitars I own that needs no modification. Anyway, I digress. I’m glad to have spent an evening with a major hero and his killer band. Many thanks for posting this show.

The composer has an important part to play in any music we hear, but the people who interpret and sing the piece are the ones to bring it to life. The Aoelians are worldwide Christian singers independent on their own.

That the Aeolians can sing this live just as amazing as they sang this on the studio is a true testament to the wealth of absolute talent in that choir. I've seen this music. At times I know there is one person singing some parts!!! Jacob Collier is not from this planet. Lol I imagine this is what my departure from this life will sound like when I enter eternity!!!
