There is a DUAL , purpose, of all things, pertaining to PROPHECY. The old, physical, with NO holy Spirit Given ; except those very FEW, GOD called/used in the Old Testament. Duality, STILL PREVAILS. The ' former '...and the ' latter ''. left/right up/down + / - north/ south former / latter.....etc.

There was no sacrifice for the WILFUL breaking of Gods moral law in the OT. Only repentance with a contrite heart as the sins of David prove. Ezekiel 18 is clear as is the majority of the OT. No one died to pay for your sins, if so he would still be dead. Thats the price due from everyone on judgement day.either eternal life or eternal death. Since Jesus is alive he didn't payfor our sins. Critical thinking required. The Father is faithful to forgive our sins by his grace and mercy IF we truly repent (turn away). If you continue to choose to sin, then you haven't changed your mind about the sin. If Jesus paid for all our sins then mercy and grace from the Father is not required nor would we be required to repent. As John clearly taught REPENT for the FORGIVENESS OF SINS. Why would someone need to die for something thats been available for mellinia before the 1st century. Repentance has always been the only propiation for sins.

Yes, there is no sacrifice available for sins without repentance, but Jesus did die for your sins and mine. That said, we have to accept the purpose of His death through repentance, and with that we also accept the promise of eternal life through His resurrection. 1Co 15:3 For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, 1Co 15:4 and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures, 1Co 15:5 and that He was seen by Cephas, then by the twelve. It's important to realize, here, who was Paul's "audience" when he writes "did die for your sins and mine." He is speaking to repentant believers/followers/obeyers. Peter makes this clear, too, that Christ's death is an invitation to forgiveness, still requiring us to repent (surrendering our will to God's) and change (by the power of God's Spirit). 1Pe 2:21 For to this you were called, because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that you should follow His steps: 1Pe 2:24 who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness-by whose stripes you were healed. Consider also, Hebrews 13:12; 1 Peter 3:18; 1 Peter 4:1. You may already agree with all of this, but it seems important to clarify that the offered message does not promote free grace as your comment suggests.

People with cancer or severe chronic pain who take pain medication are not commiting a sin. If people take the medication to get high, that is an intentional sin.
