No. The steep rubber ones are jarring at 5mph and they are installed in places with 10-15mph limits. Just sick.

This is spot on. What people in the u.s. don't realize is that since everyone has to have a car regardless they want it or not and that having a car is seen like an obligation to so many people who hate driving and would rather use public transportation if that was an option. That means that cars are treated as a disposable commodity. As a consequence of that, 90% of the cars in the used car market in the united states are pure garbage, completely neglected and abused, even low miles cars. so if you come across the almost impossible to find gem of a 5 - 10yr old well maintained and taken care of, buy it on the spot. It will be pretty evident when you see it.

That sounds like a fake reason. If the car can comfortably idles for hours while parked without any problem to the gearbox. I don't think if it rolls down in neutral it can be affected. Except if you say that 'wheels which are free wheeling after putting in neutral needs transmission fliuds when moving down hill (offcourse this is not true). Good thing is the brake continue working fine since engine is on and the steering wheel. The problem would be there if you turn of the engine and try to coast

Bought my mvmdx at like 225000 I think now I'm at 250000. I don't have a scan tool yet and I need to do a valve adjustment, will do a TB cleaning along the way. Is there an app for a scan tool or is there a chance I won't get a high idle after working on the car?

Technically speaking, speed bumps cause increased wear on suspension components (compared to if it wasn't there at all) for very little gain in pedestrian safety. They are also worse for the environment, causing braking and acceleration. Contrary to popular belief, speed bumps rarely, if at all, slow drivers down. Hell, in my experience they actually make those drivers that do speed go faster because you are forcing them to slow down. They just don't work.

Id add Mazda to the Honda or Toyota list, if its with their new 6 speed transmission. Mazda is very reiliable not that they partner woth Toyota instead of Ford. And finally make their of non CVT transmission.

Is it possible for water pumps to intermittently work? I have a '98 Chrysler Sebring that I only drive a few miles at a time before it starts to overheat. The radiator isn't clogged, there was no leaking, no whining noise. At first I thought it was a stuck closed thermostat until one day, out of the blue, it stopped overheating and there was normal flow in radiator and heater core. What I did hear was a sound much like knocking rods. Occasionally, I would later lose cabin heat and notice temperature rise. I figured it had to be the water pump since I have never heard of a functioning open thermostat closing while driving. The next day, circulation returned, along with the knocking sound from the area of the pump. It is not an easy fix because motor mounts have to be removed and the engine supported to replace the water pump.

I bought a used California Snowbnird's K1600 GMC Sierra Crew Cab @ 43,000 miles --- and I was concerned with the noise I heard in the front hubs - or so I believed. I bought two hubs and one almost-sunny day I jacked the truck up and spun the wheels - wiggled them - and generally tried to force them to make ANY noise at all. Nope - no noise. THEN I noticed that the tires had been siped! There's the noise, lady! I will never allow this to happen to me again - even though these siped tires came on the vehicle and I'll run them down and replace then in the late Fall for new - unsiped tires. Interestingly, as a retired shop owner who had a Remington Tire dealership --- I am on to the tire selling games --- but siping was new to me - especially here when I now live in Montana. What I DO know is that it is illegal to cut, burn, regroove or modify any tires in California.

Hello. I have been puzzled with my 2004 f150. I have changed the fuel pump driver module, and it still won't start. I have no power to the module. I have to keep turning the key on and off until I hear the module kick on. The truck will run perfectly until I kill it, and then I have to repeat the on, off procedure until I hear the pump kick on. This is driving me crazy.

I tried to get my tire off. recently I turned the crank and all it did was clicked. I figure it was cranked up too tight.. I got lucky and let the air out of the tire and it. came right down.. By decreasing the tire pressure it. Slightly loosened up the cable.. I was at home when this happened. I was rotating my tires.. If this would have happened on the highway, With a flat tire. , I would have been in trouble.

Very good advice and insights...it's truly the overall condition and care and maintenance of the vehicle that counts. Additionally what does your research or any research on & about the vehicle say, such as accidents & recalls & history & of course required evaluation by independent sources.

Locally a rebuilt for my van is $3100 and a re-manufactured is $3500. The re-built has a 1 year warranty and the re-man has a 3 year warranty. That should tell you something. $400 more for a 2 year longer warranty seems the way to go?
