Have you seen a case where AWD is gone, basically making it FWD, without setting any codes? If so, was it a Solenoid?

Doing this on a customers car. Dumbest design ever! Got old one out got the new one up hust gotta get the converter bolts to slide in and button it up! Couldnt pay me 2k to do this job again!

I’m installing a rebuild transmission this week in a 2015 Nissan rogue do I have to reprogram the transmission? Or I have to sent it to the dealer to get it programmed?

If you’re installing one from Nissan, then you should probably get it programmed for the warranty but if somebody else built it try to drive it see if it works. We call a guy and he comes in programs at our shop.

We put a 6 mm eyelid on it. You could scan the wire and just put it under the bolt that would work. It’s not ideal, but it would work.

If you’re using used, you probably don’t need to program. You’re putting a new one in it. You need to program it for warranty to stay yet.

One thing you do so well is get them top bolts out from behind those stupid coolant lines I spent such a long time on those the first time. Do you prefill the torque converter before install btw?

If it fixed it the first time it’ll probably fix it again. Make sure the blend door moves free.

I got a new low mile cvt, it acts like its in neutralin every gear. Put new oem fluid in everything. Still nothing. Do you think its a solenoid?

@doingstuffwithdylan4367 no, i didn't pull the pan since it's supposed to only have 15,000 miles on it. I did notice it had the newer module on it and I swaped the one off my old cvt on it. Still nothing. My buddy had his snap on scan tool on it and it was communicating. All the eyesight and the other warning lights are coming up as well. I don't believe there's anything that could get damaged while bolting this together. If the solenoids check out good I'm just going to pull it back out and scratch my head some more

@donkeyconn2122 i had broken the oil pump cover and the gear by not seating the torque converter all the way in. I swaped the good parts from my old trans over and good as new. No trans relearn just cleared codes with my scanner. 3 or 400 miles on it and drives fine

You done any 8f35 yet? 2018 up Ford Edge? They suck worse than a 6 speed. The transfer case will not slide off the transmission until the trans it unbolted from the engine, what a design… unless I’m misssing something and I don’t have to remov the engine like ford says to do.

Done these before at my shop. We usually drop the entire subframe w/eng. and trans together and do all the hard work on the floor. Seems easier to me....have you tried it both ways?

I have not our bosses yell at us when we pull engines to pull transmissions. I find these are pretty easy. The pathfinders fight me with the axle but other than that, they seem gravy.
