@@edwardgrabot798 He was the only illustrator who couldn't have his artwork colorized except only on the lame covers. But to Hell with all of MAD and CRACKED magazines whatsoever. They're BOTH very lame, no matter what. I'd even bash their crappy FOX sketch TV series ( except the first two seasons starring Orlando Jones only; luckily on DVD; and the I've also love the Cartoon Network kids series which was produced by the genius Robot Chicken).

All the years that Mort Drucker was doing satires for Mad Magazine, no one was doing color. The reason why is because color is expensive. They were trying to keep the cost of Mad Magazine down. Later they covered the extra cost of color by supplementing it with advertisement in the magazine. Anybody over 16 years old would know this. By the way, when they did switch over to color for the satires, Mort Drucker did fabulous color work! Beautiful splash pages. Just like , Tom Richmond, Mort Drucker worked on the board. His pencils and final inkings we're done by hand. The difference is Mort added color by hand. Also, he was great at the black and white doing that by hand. Many illustrators struggle when they're doing black-and-white and or grayscale. But these illustrators who have cut their teeth on black and white images are far more successful when it comes to adding color to an illustration because of the black and white work they have previously done. Early on, in his career, I do believe, Tom also did hand coloring, but, as times have changed it's more efficient and quicker to scan in the inkings and then color them in Photoshop. Just next time you decide you're going to spew out some ridiculous statements. Try to back them up with facts. It'll make people believe that you might know what you're talking about.
