Does HDLoader work with the latest Free McBoot version? I have been doing some research and HDLoader game installer pops up for everything. It seems everyone is using OPL now but I prefer the simple game list of HDLoader instead of having to also add box art.

Double check the name of the Launch.elf, I believe it needs to be CBLaunch.elf, it could also be an issue with the HD loader

I followed all directions only switched from mass to hdd i already had hdloader on a fmcb card that I copied, and hdloader is where its supposed to be but it loads a black screen. Im using freehdboot version 1.966

I've never ran into that issue, but it may be because of freehdloader. That mood updates the OS (kind of) so HDLoader might not be launching correctly because of it. I worked need to research it a bit more to get you a better answer

You should use a syscon reader to find out the problem. Odds are its an RSX problem or Tokins.

Yes, any ISO will work, but it's recommended that you make your own backups.

Everything is happening in volatile memory, which basically means it will persist as long as the game runs. For this to be permanent I would need to either build a plugin, or modify the actual game ROM. Effectively I am using IDA to fish around and test mods, then once I have a mod I like, I can export the address and ARM instruction and attach them to a plugin of sorts. Luckily, Rosalina has a cheat plugin feature I can use.

Ah man, thought I stumbled onto a diamond here! At the time of this comment im afraid im stuck on the part where you're supposed to transfer files from the usb over to the memory card (with fmcb) Sadly everytime i try to transfer files from this usb to my memory card with fmcb, the console just bricks and the transfer ultimately fails. Im gonna try and format my ssd and use that as a way to transfer my files over to the memory card. I have a feeling my usb is just cursed for some reason. I literally just want to play dragon quest 8 again but with some hacks I used the last time I played the game! I could of course just use pcsx2.... but I really just want to play on my console. EDIT That did not work... Seems for whatever reason, ulaunch.elf can not display any files on my HDD. Kind of a dumb ass question but, could it be because im using a ssd? Surely thats not the reason why.... but i've been fooled worse. If anyone has any tips it would mean a lot.

Possibly? I haven't had much luck with SSD's on PS2 :X has something to do with the read/write times or possibly that SSD isn't compatible. As far as your USB, try to format it with fat16, and do a complete format instead of quick format. Newer USB's have issues because they are formatted for 32 and 64 bit systems. PS2 uses USB 1.0 which CAN handle 32 bit, but doesn't like to work with elf files. I'll have to research it more, but I hope this will at least step you in the right direction!

I had tried setting it up a while ago but didn't have much luck at building a good ISO for it. I think it has to do with how the PS2 decrypts ISO's during runtime and it didn't launch the game correctly after.

Bro 6 hours trying to get the he loader lol most of the Spanish tutorials are link downs or they don’t explain how the boot system work lol but watching your tutorial I figured out and I make my own way I just copy the hdloader from my cousin he bought the memory card already with the mcboot lol I just copy his programs and I paste on my memory card thank you brother

I bought a free McBoot memory card for eBay and it already has cold breaker 9.2. But for some reason it will not boot my game. And it's HD loader not OPL. Is there any way for me to just adjust the system to boot HDL loader instead of opl?

That shouldn't be a problem, but I'll be honest I've not tried it before! I have a SATA HDD adapter for PS2, but it was giving me issues, so I went back to the old school one. Sorry! I need to test more on that.

@@Cain532. it works few years ago they didn't have sata adapters available on ebay, now they do so i'm using a ssd. opl has a 2tb limit so that what people can look forward too, ide drives never really broke the 1tb barrier, they did but its at the extreme end of things

On my freemcboot v 1.8 is not working it ask me to format my hard drive when that appired i restarted ps2 and afther that just wont work my friend made me v 1.94 and now afther i start the game it goes back in UlancELF Menu or its a black screen any help?

I've been having a great deal of problems getting CodeBreaker to work again... As far as I can tell it's super picky and not quite the best. If I ever find a better work around I'll try to make a new video. The best I can say is try to make sure all the files are in the correct directories and named correctly. Sorry if that's not helpful :(

There was likely a problem with the burn process then. Try setting the write speed lower.

This video was made for a much MUCH older firmware. But so long as you can activate a webkit exploit, I don't see why it wouldn't work. They keep the PS4 Trainer website updated fairly frequently.

It's an error check with the older version of CCAPI, essentially, you are using a newer version of CCAPI and it's throwing an error.

HDLoader will NOT load games from an external source. You would need something like Open PS2 Loader (which I recommend over HDLoader honestly)
