Was in Philly on 9/3/89 when he dusted this off for the first time in years. I was standing or should i say dancing next to 2 security folks who were retirement age, both African Americans, one guy and one lady. Their faces were beaming bright. This, lucky old sun, sistets & brothers, it was like we were in church, because we were. I can only imagine them going home telling their friends and family, "so this guy playing tonight, the people, it was something" 😊 made the night for me

In 2017.. there was a 3 Gs festival in Black Falls Wisconsin. We got there right before IN band Graciously Departed. About 1 or 2 am. We had cool people come set up next to us. Betsy and her rider guy. From Minnesota. She gave me the bands CD. Shotgun Ragtime Band with Melvin playing with them. I still jam that CD. ❤ I think Betsys rider was named Jazz. 😊 Good memories. Took my youngest son and my daughter 🎉

Goodness knows those years had their share of sorrows, headaches and dangers… but there must be a version of Heaven where you just get to kick back on a warm November Sunday in a California wine country campus and listen to Jerry and the boys play bluegrass for love. I know I’d go.

When The Dead played in Nashville, Tennessee and I heard that one of Garcia's guitar's was stolen and he vowed never to "ever"play in Nashville, Tennessee again, unless his guptar was returned to him and when Jerry Garcia says something about not playing you can bet the farm on it! I never heard if he ever got his guitar returned to him ,and I don't think he ever got it back. Cause The Grateful Dead never played Nashville, Tennessee again! And in 1995 they came back to Tennessee but not in Nashville, lol,so I just answered my own question with my own answer? I need to lay down i do believe, lol.😅
