Only way to improve is to ski with folks with more experience. Remember, one day soon, it will be you showing the 🎉neewbs how it's done. Started at 13, I'm now 60... Check out kicking horse in golden, bc.

Ouch. Risky move.. I, as a snowboarder, would have just scraped my way down as slow as I could. My board would have pushed the ski down one way or another. I have no idea why this guy dropped on his butt like that

Drive forward with your downhill ski pointing with your big toe. Knees bent with shoulders up and level while hips making the adjustments.

Wow he's small and weight nothing and still built up a ton of speed on that run out! LOL no wonder it's so scary. Even after you stick the landing you gotta slow down and you're going way faster than little falla. Great job!!

It all happens fast; even if you sideslip a portion of the goat path. I think that aspect of the entry sneaks up on people. It is impressive when someone does it well on their first attempt.

That's how the greatest skiers of all time *learn.* You will never learn if you don't take off and go. Great job ladies! Would love to see you on your 3rd attempt I'm sure you nailed it. ...Respect

Completely agree. Thanks for your encouraging comment. I’d bet they have it figured out.
@devdroid96064 күн бұрын
Nope. You learn agility on skis first. These skiers are lacking skills to be able to learn to descend the slope. They should practice more on a slope with big moguls first. They should not be sitting back like that because you need to be over the front portion of the ski to maintain control on a steep slope.

They've got more balls than I do. I've been there and it's more insane in person. That dad's heart must have swelled so large seeing his amazing daughters crush this. They dropped in with some pause but for a first timer, that was a quick go. Great, great, great job, girls! We're all admiring your confidence. The first girl did a lot better but the second drop-in is going to be easier and better, I'm sure.

No shortage of adults sliding the entire run. How or when do riders know it is time to try it?
@lennyj208022 күн бұрын
@@travisbacon1974 agreed...but I will stand by my assessment and say these two were too young. They were out of control and a danger to themselves and others on the mountain as soon as they dropped in.

Side slipping the upper portion is how the vast majority of people do it. And I think most have the vision of skiing from the point where they can’t step down anymore. But having the vision of how it is going to go and actually executing the plan don’t always coincide. “Everyone has a plan until they get punched in the face” Mike Tyson
