19:00 how do you become comfortable with yourself. I want to spread love too
@vernaculargames61446 күн бұрын
Start by identifying who you are in specific. You can do this by looking towards the things you like to do and don't like to do, then asking the question of "why". From there it is a matter of acceptance or rejection. If you don't like your answer to the question of why, then take that identified aspect of your persona and resolve to work on it. If you do like your answer to that question, then take that aspect of your persona and resolve to lean into it. The important thing is not to reject the negative aspects of yourself, but rather to understand where they come from, and to recontextualize them into things that are to your benefit. For instance. If you are someone who gets angry easily, understand that as an emotional passion that is unique to you. You must learn to control it, but also be able to lean into it, such that when you take on a task you have the fullness of your passion behind you. You cannot change the core elements of who you are, but you can change how you view and use them. Becoming cognizant of what they are and updating your approach to handling them with that cognizance in mind.

Is this a part of game theory? Where can I learn more about this? Waiting for the next part if there'll be more..
@vernaculargames61446 күн бұрын
It's not quite a part of game theory in the sense of it predicating on concepts of mathematical and sequential strategy. However it could theoretically inform elements of it, as each of the four elements of play can account for illogical deviations within strategic models.

It's a lot of hard work to be sure. But you'll learn a lot of skills even if you do fail. It's a good launch pad into future endeavors. Just think of the failures as lessons, and you'll be able to move forward in the face of depressing odds. If I may ask, what kind of business do you want to own?

@ I want to own a jewellery business. I work in a boutique store now so I can get experience. I went to the Diamond District in New York, and I decided that I wanted to sell jewellery.
@vernaculargames614414 күн бұрын
It all starts with inspiration. An old friend of mine I used to know sold gems for awhile (not quite the same thing but a lil bit related) One of the big advantages he had was the ability to undercut the market through his connections with a gem excavator. That cut out the middle man when it came to distribution, greatly lowering his costs. Though you are just starting out, if you can impress upon people your passion for the business, you may be able to make similar connections. I highly recommend chatting up people not only in the jewelry business but also related fields in the area of distribution (deliverers, diamond cutters/appraisers/craftsmen, excavators, and of course, the sellers) Good luck on your endeavors tomocchi. I shall be rooting for you.

Man I love the idea of giving characters their own theme when they popping off. You definitely might need to implement some AI tho considering cool plays are more than doing X amount of damage to someone or passing multiple people at once.
@vernaculargames61446 ай бұрын
Yeah, implementing the abilities such that they have character beyond "Do Big Damage" or "Go Faster" would be important. Upgrades to handling, regaining shields, sapping other characters shields, infinite ammo, Things that enable slides n' glides or busting through track barriers. I'd say outright flying even, but that's probably a bit too broken. Even if I love the McCloud stand in character.

It's a cool concept, I would play it, though TBH F-Zero AC/GX online would be enough for me, sure we have F-Zero 99 but I don't feel like that's the same thing. Overall it's a good pitch though I'm not sure I'd want weapons in F-Zero, I like the combat to be limitted to bashing. Edit: this wasn't meant to be a reply to this comment, I'm just stupid.

I’m choosing the latter for similar reasons as you mentioned in the video that I experienced during a summer internship my junior year albeit to a much lesser extent.

I find this topic interesting because of my current fascination on the emotion of limerance. I feel eralove is a more progressed version of limerance. Limerance is more passive or observant subset of eralove, it deals in fantization of an idea rather than the reality of it. Maybe it builds into eralove after stewing in your mind for a time.
@vernaculargames61448 ай бұрын
I could see that. Perhaps it would be correct to say that Limerance is a possible seed of Erolove. In fantasizing about what it would be to like to be in a relationship with a person, or to take the relationship further, one increases their desire for it. It is like hype in a sense. The desire for a movie or game, can far outstrip the reality of the item if stewed and left unchecked. It can lead to a frothing desire for the item that the item itself cannot meet the expectations of, leading to a bitter disappointment that (sometimes) is unwarranted. To be sure, I think there is nothing wrong with imagining what a relationship could be like. Rather it is important to temper it with an understanding that the person in your head may not be an accurate representation of the person in reality

The problem is that you can’t eat the future. The people that sell the world are simply trying to save themselves in the now, because if they did things to secure the future, they would be less secure in their own and risk being outcompeted by others that are willing to sell the world to make the most money…and money grants power, so the more you have the more power you wield to deal with competitors.
@vernaculargames61449 ай бұрын
It's true. Those who sell the future understand the a core truth: The cycle of birth life and death, and that the most futures naturally result in a death of some form. To ensure that that death is not their own, they eat the future that may in face entail that death. It's like a litch in a way.

monetization and politics seems to be the bane of most industries these day. I mean don't get me wrong, i think the is plenty of room for both of those things to exist in game but the movement to social messaging and gacha/loot box in mainstream gaming is killing it. if you want to *cough* waste, your money on a game you should be allowed to but the companies should be forced to be more transparent. people are losing their lively hoods to games that have confusing and addictive monetization. As for the social messaging, inclusion and diversity is the best thing we have in the west. Representation is also key to showing what we have to offer and that there is opportunity and freedom for everyone. HOWEVER companies that are using it as a opportunity to show off how great they are and use false representation that is borderline patronising. All gamers want is a natural experience that is well made, well acted and well coded. once you get all 3 of those you print money.
