I ended up getting a Helix 10 Di G4N and Ethernet Switch to connect Helix 12 Si G4N and Mega Live. Finding spot to install switch was a challenge so I ended up with a 1/4" plastic board that I glued to the inside of the boat with JB Weld Marine Epoxy. So far it has worked out really well. Labeled each connection also. Powered up and it all worked. I also was able to use the Si and Waypoints on my Helix 12. Lady from Cabela's told me I would not be able to use the Si with a Di unit, but it does connect. Haven't been on the water yet been really hot and way too many ski boats out right now. I put in a on/off switch as you mentioned for the Ethernet Switch.

oh absolutely you can see SI on a DI unit. My front unit isn't a DI or SI and I can view everything except Mega-live. I bought that because I didn't need an SI/DI and saved the $$.....its only being used as a video screen.

@@KevinsNorthernExposure If I read right to use Mega Live have to have at least Di. That is why I opted to get the Di unit. I wanted the CHO unit, and they were all gone and even Humminbird shows discontinued if that is right. Just curious where your upper entrance/vent is. Is it on the face that makes contact with the foam board? Or is it a standard upper entrance in the colony living space? I’m trying to make sense of this whole moisture thing. I’ve been a beekeeper for 7 years. And some years I do good with overwintering, and others not so much. The vast majority of my winter losses are from moisture. I know this because when inspecting my dead-outs, there’s tons of moisture and mold in the box. I live in a cold climate (northern Idaho). Anyway, I’ve been racking my brain for years, trying to figure out how to combat moisture. Thanks

Im thinking about repowering my grumman challenger 16x42 with suzuki 30hp remote steer with power trim. And debating on if id want a jack plate like yours. Do you think the jack plate is worth it.? Im running a yamaha 2stroke (carburated) with no power trim i get 28mph wot runs good i just want better fuel efficiency and power trim. No power trim sucks if your a bass fisherman. I cant source a power trim unit its an 86 yamaha built mariner ..if it pt even exist for that motor idk The balance and handling is great. I dont get porpoise at any setting and it runs nice and flat at any speed over 14mph. Porpoise is a deal breaker for me. Did the jackplate cause the porpoise?
@KevinsNorthernExposure2 ай бұрын
It can if you don't trim the motor correctly...but that can happen without the micro jack plate... The jack plate does give me better and easier steering control of the boat that I didn't have prior. It did NOT give me any additional speed.

I have been using Navionics cards for map detail for years. Since Garmin bought the company or whatever the story is the price is ridiculous. I use to get deals on renewing my subscription for updating my card. I also submitted map that was recording and I had added more recording of map to it. That is on the Navionics card now as an option when updating card. Does the Lakemaster cover areas other commercial maps don't cover? I see that there is a premium map Western States for $200 and the VX you list is $150. We live in Oregon and mainly fish lakes and rivers of Oregon. We fish the lower Columbia River that is on the border of Oregon and Washington state.

I wish I could answer that for you. I used avionics a long time ago. It was ok....I went to lakemaster because of its detail and it's complete integration with humminbird and minnkota electronics. I watched a video on the Lakemaster premium the guy was using. Premium has option that if you use it is great. Not sure I would want the premium. I like the ability to set five depth shades and map detail. Even option to select time of year water conditions and type of fish and shows where to fish. I got Lakemaster a while back for a lake we would fish. Has real good Crappie and state record Smallmouth Bass for Oregon. They plant thousand of Trout and the Bass eat a lot of them. Really small Trout. We would release if not hooked bad. Lake we use to fish short story idiot wild fish group filed lawsuit to start wild salmon run in streams above lake. The Army Corps opted to drain the lake down to a stream at the bottom. Killed thousands of fish in the lake some were protected. I hope a number of lawsuits stop any of that happening again. All of the dams east of us were built with no fish passage and destroyed wild fish runs. These wild fish groups know that but instead force their wants. Won court case. Even courts are brain dead now days. No one in their right mind would force doing what they did. Take five years for lake to be close to what it was if it isn’t drained again. @@KevinsNorthernExposure
