I would have called en-oui or out-oui boredom. That’s the only way to sum that character up for me. I have to admit I’m a fan of 1 and 2. My favourite new character from 2 is Embaresment.

I watched this show and I think it actually shows the gay community in a bad light. The main characters are rampant sex addicts ones who in the end don’t care if they gave someone a disease which will kill them. Some of the dialogue is so forced especially in the last episode. Also, if a man who I cared about told me he knowingly infected people with aids I would struggle to support him even through sickness and death. One of the characters narrowly avoids getting hiv because Richie didn’t feel like infecting him! Also, we are told that men were in the closet in the 1980s due to shame but also Richie mum is shamed for not knowing her son was gay? It was her fault that her son infected other men unwittingly? Rubbish.

Great video guys and I'm sure many people will heed your thoughts, tips and advice. No Genie+ when we went Dec 2019 but still big crowds and long lines. But we managed to get on everything we wanted to - including Rise of the Resistance which had only opened a few days prior - 6am buses??? We were getting the bus at 3am...yes, they really did provide transport that early. But WOW...Rise is a stunning attraction on so many levels and for so many reasons. I appreciate your views and Genie+ and agree with your - it's not going anywhere - advice. It's not, of course, but that doesn't make it palatable for so many people and for so many reasons. Head over to Universal (which I really hope you're doing for this visit) and see what they offer with just the price of entry. Love the pics, the vlogs and so pleased you're having an incredible time x

Guys, you are kinda right in the points your making. BUT if you have seen the interviews of Russell T Davies you would know that he wanted 8 episodes but he only got commissioned for 4 !! He literally begged for a Fifth!! Therefore, you can't really expect RTD to tell the story and fit in, that was then, now we have treatment and everything is different. As someone else has said the original 5th episode was going to be now, but as Russell has so much to tell he couldn't fit it all into 4, hence why the fifth got changed. I'm sure Russell would get the fifth episode made if he was given the funding. As for no trans or lesbian story... The whole series is based on his own (and his friends) experiences at that time. I agree things were different for gay guys if they weren't on "the scene". But again, the series is based on Russell and his friends own experiences.
@movingforwardz3 жыл бұрын
Hello! Yes we found out a lot of that after. But this was filmed based on our impressions after watching. And I think its fair to say that a large portion of the casual audience won't go out and find those interviews. I wonder if more will be commissioned now its been a massive hit? I hope so. Russell's full tale deserves to be told
@sharris92673 жыл бұрын
I hope so too. I think Russell said he had enough material to make 10 (or was it 100) episodes.

Hi Ian! Thanks for commenting. Out of interest, where did you live then? As I said in the video, this is kind of the 10 years leading up to my own experience so I'm very interested to hear from people who literally lived through the time the drama represents. Best. Paul R

Is this film as graphic as The Normal Heart? It was a great film about the era but it was a lot to see humans suffer that way. Are there similar scenes in Its a Sin?
@movingforwardz3 жыл бұрын
Hey Sade, thanks for your comment. I haven't seen The Normal Heart, so I cant compare sadly. But yes, this is quite hard hitting in some scenes.
@sadephillips96453 жыл бұрын
@@movingforwardz Hi there thank you so much for your reply. I used to work for GMHC an HIV/AIDS Charity in NYC. We had a viewing of The Normal Heart and there were scenes where patients were left in a soiled bed due to ignorance (everything was shown) and scenes where people were shown indisposed in a graphic way. Just wanted to know if there were any scenes like that?
@movingforwardz3 жыл бұрын
@@sadephillips9645 right! Firstly, thank you for what was clearly extremely valuable work there. I wish I had your strength. Second... no. Not graphic like that. More like emotionally disturbing. Hard to say too much without spoilers.
@Psych9113 жыл бұрын
Hi Sade, I have seen both and no it's not as graphic as The Normal Heart. However there's (naturally) an awful lot of cruelty and injustice in It's A Sin.

I just wondered what your thoughts were on Jill since Russell T Davies has explained that she was a real person who lived in the Pink Palace (also plays Jill the character’s mum in the show). Also, great video, I’m on a journey of gaining perspectives from the gay community after watching it, so it was really lovely to hear your thoughts.

Hey Pete! I'd kinda be the next chapter ... I first started going on the scene in 93. Didnt really go out in London until the late 90s though. I stuck to Lower Bedfordshire ... Luton LOL I get that people probably think I didn't like Its A Sin - I actually really got a lot out of it. It is a well made dramatisation. I just ... well ... its all in the video!
