Kapil is only for a very few human beings in this world. you're actually wasting your time and his time when u dont even care enough to actually listen to the answer, you just wanna ask for the sake of asking a question..

Cant say thank u enough for posting these.. The images at the background somehow make me feel immersed in what kapil talks about. Shit hits hard when u feel it in your bones and you're not even trying to do anything that kapil says, it just comes.

4:43 - Its just the state of affairs. Honesty is saying things the way that they are, not the way that they should be. 9:55 - Only the desire is there. If the desire overwhelms a person, then they will automatically move in that direction. If they do it because they "should" - its a waste of time. Notice "should" is a society induced "good habit" of sorts and it is not genuine. 10:50 - The desire is not even a 'level' of desire you aught to get to. There's no extra 'phase'/'level' of requisite desire to reach for. Everyone already has a requisite desire for something & that overwhelms them on the daily - everyone is obsessed with something. The only thing that they will get in their life, consistently, is the thing that they are helplessly obsessed with. If the aspiration is that strong, then they will not "need to be chosen" for the task, "chosen" wouldnt even be in their vocabulary with regards to their obsessive task. To them - it is just is what they do. 14:22 - Likewise, if you really understood clearly & knew that something is nonsense , you will NOT be doing it. If you really understood clearly & knew that something is not nonsense and is of absolute benefit/utility, you WILL be doing it. Likewise, if you really understood clearly & knew that you are deathly obsessed with a task, you WILL already be doing it. If you really understood clearly & knew that you arent interested in this job/task, you WONT be doing it.

2:05 2:52 - If your mind runs with the idea of "so I think/I should probably try to "stop having insistences"". That is a prescription. Thats the early precursors to a chase for insistence-less-ness. 3:27 - The answer is something that is acquired through elimination. Neither 1, 0, nor the commonplace thinking of "balanced"/"0.5". It is a weird amalgamation somewhere in the middle after one has gone through elimination. 5:16 - Until the ROI of felt natural insistence-lessness/expectation-lessness > The ROI of instance/expectations Until the ROI of going 'with the flow of life'/'the flowing of life' > ROI of demands (even hope is an expected internal demand) Only then, will a human can flow with genuine insistence-lessness. 6:46 - Similarities of the world class task: "This is not my vocation, nor is it something that I do for a fixed period of time, this literally is life and death for me". 7:27 - Performance is a side effect: "I am examining myself & I just so happen to write & it just happens that the world peers upon my self work & finds utility in it."

For me it's hard to make sense of what he is saying. He deconstructs everything. He says how everything is a prescription and how we try to reach an ideal. But what I'm left to wonder is so what? What else am I supposed to do, just stay at home in my bed and sleep all day. I have to do something, if i don't i start hating my life. If I don't do something to feel proud of myself then i feel bad about myself. I need to have an ideal in mind to strive for it? how else am i able to reach anything if i don't set goals/ideals?

the only thing left for me is to reach mastery in doing something. I want to do it for the sake of itsself. I have a desire to play guitar. So I think it would be smart to practice it daily, without having a specific ideal in mind. I just want to play it daily and improve improve improve. Is that better?

I think he might say that there's nothing wrong with laying in bed all day if that's what you really want to do. It sounds like that isn't what you really want to do. I think he may also say something along the lines of "your desire to feel proud is what is producing the suffering you feel when you dont feel proud." Just my two cents

I find it a bit odd the people you have conversations with just accept everything or label things 'deep' way too quick. They don't seem to be asking the right questions either. They're constantly looking for the validity of the existence of such state you talk describe.

Most people when trying to ask questions try to articulate their problem as best as possible but language often fails in defining the subtleness of whatever she is going through. Only by sincere examination of one's self can we condense what we want and where we want to go.
