Ruin. A breath of originality in the middle ‘80’s when a lot hardcore punk had defeated the purpose. Ruin comes along and do things no other band ANYWHERE did at that time, what a sound, Voscos range both Paul and Rich on battery Glen Wallis holding down the ruthless crunch of his rhythm guitar, Cordy and his flawless bass playing and Damon lead guitarist and fellow southpaw, came up with some truly innovative solos! 1997 Reunion at the Troc as well, which was just as good as this gig. Ruin brought cerebral thoughts back to punk at a time when hardcore needed fresh ideas, and Ruin brought it to us, a truly underrated, honest, and amazing gem that Philadelphia can be proud to say that is theirs. “THINK! BLINK! WALK! TALK!!! CONVINCE ME YOUR ALRIGHT” ✊🏻

As one of our only reviews put it -- "I put this on and immediately felt like I had walked into some sort of Nerd's Lair"! Thanks for capturing this beautiful crew!

It’s called “holding” it is a different guitar arrangement. Almost makes it seem a different song.

There was a part of her set that brilliantly flared... not sure how to describe it--she clicked something on with her foot and was strumming the guitar and it was incredibly loud all of a sudden, and great. Do you remember?

Thanks for this--from the looks of the camera angle, we were just to the left of you.

what does she use for delay/reverb?
@freddie21198 жыл бұрын
She tends to use boss digital delays (I've seen DD-3s but I'm guessing she uses the others too), a boss rc-20xl looper, and I'm not sure about what she uses for reverb. I know she used to use a electro harmonix holy grail for a while. - there's pictures around on the internet that might help ya.

Freddie Murfin thanks, right, yeah ive seen a lot of those pics now. i guess i'm wondering what those two black boxes are in front of her right knee, maybe stereo splitters or DI boxes? i def want to get a rc20.
@playhouse90497 жыл бұрын

Yo Bear!!!! It was! Pagan Babies opening up?!?! (And the Droogettes who I will say nothing else about other than I like some of their songs). You, Tavis, Jeremy, Hank and I, are all somewhere up front, I was pretty much standing near Cordy, Swope on bass and Damon Wallis, on guitar, a fellow south paw, I almost asked him if I could sit in for “China” but I chickened out! Rob McManus had a 1990 Reggie White (R.I.P) jersey on (I think), that may have been at the “Kenifit” (R.I.P.) Ken, a good friend and guitar player. I had my Tug McGraw jersey on, got to relive some of the good old days of the Random Children, Invid, Diz, Prometheus Trashed, The Guttersnipes, Public Decent….. we had us a little scene, didn’t we Bear?!?! Hope all is well Bear!!! Love ya mate!!!

I do have another twenty minutes of footage that I'll get up at some point, but not the whole set. The whole performance was so amazing and unrelenting. I couldn't let filming it distract me too much.

please tell me you have the whole show. i was there.

Alas I did not. I spent the rest of the evening swaying back and forth and thoroughly enjoying the set. Recording can be a bit of a distraction and I really wanted to give the set my undivided attention.

Hey, guys. Remember me? I am the guy that was wearing the Victorian era clothing as I marched with you and visited the camp on Dilworth plaza. I was hoping my outfit would make me stand out enough to be memorable to those I stood with. How are things progressing after the swine evicted the camp? I haven't been able to catch up with you after you left Dilworth =*
