A little late…but, I loved watching you and Sofia at the Jersey Shore. “They” say the water was beautiful and clear and looks like you really enjoyed it. Makeup and contact lenses do not work at the beach. I learned that the hard way! Beach hair looks great on you both! What a nice memory you have of your day at the shore. As someone who was in college years ago (19). and has live on her own for 23 years what I have learned is to buy in twos not three because there's always going to be an odd one. Also make sure it's compact enough that you can pack early. I also move quite frequently every year/year year and a half due to circumstances. I have 17 tote boxes for my entire apartment I've had the same number for 23 years.

As a mom of TWO college age girls let me help you out. Most important is being comfortable. Comfy bed. Then feeling at home -so printed out photos. You also want a shoe box size bin FULL of first aid and medicines (such as cold medicines, cough drops, Tylenol, vitamins etc.) you also need Lysol wipes and spray. All your personal hygiene items, and school/desk supplies. You can wait until Move in day (or the day after) to pick up additional cleaning supplies, and snacks/ food items. The biggies; mattress pad at least three inches deep for your bed- order from Amazon and cost DOES equal quality. A laptop and school bag. A comforter bed set. Shower supplies, towels, a fridge, a microwave, a vacuum, power strip extension cords, a fan, and good storage solutions. OPTIONAL; a rug, an ottoman, extra seating, a pillow for your desk chair, a protective desk mat, an additional mirror (long and desk size), a lift for your laptop, a lap desk, a headboard, a bedside light, and bedside nightstand/ pocket to hold essentials if raising your bed. Any kitchen or eating items such as bowls and utensils are also optional. A single use coffee maker is an option as well as a water filter. DECOR IS NOT AN ESSENTIAL! So many girls get caught up in worrying about the decor b/c they want their space to look cute. That’s secondary. Your comfort and having essential items with you in a small space is the priority. You can always buy decor later either in the town your college is located in, OR from ordering online. You can always have something sent to your school Mailbox from online orders.
