What about people who don't have the need to learn standard notations? Is there a book focused on tabs and fretboard.....

I like the flattening the finger way on the early measure. I think I always instinctively did it that way. I think I got halfway through grade 2 before falling off years ago. So glad you're covering this.

I got the three in one Hal Leonard and I like the simplicty. I'm also following your lessons for book 1. It's harder to find Mel Bay in the UK

Hi Nick, Thank you for taking the time to go step by step on some these confusing details and also for saying that Mell Bay will introduce something new only to explain in later in the book. Not going crazy after all. Thank You again!!

So if you get all those things in book 1 then going through it would be.idea to start there.

This is BY FAR the best how to tune with a tuner video for beginners that I have seen. Great job of explaining every detail to the total novice. Thank you!

I started with the Rocksmith method during the pandemic but came to the conclusion that I needed something more as far as building a foundation. Upon recommendation, I bought the Hal Leonard book and have been following along with you. It's a matter of undoing what I've learned and putting it back together with these methods, and this page is definitely tripping me up, but I am determined to get it! Thanks for putting this out there. I plan to subscribe once I get to Book 2!

Thanks very much for the lessons! I got this book to use alongside Justin Guitar because they have different focus points. I already made a silly simple mistake I was playing F on the 2nd fret and wondering why it sounded off next to the audio files. Thanks so much for this series going through the book!

A advice for those who are starting in guitar is not using Berkley's guitar method. I started that method and frustrated me doing the chord exercise, and it has a little bit of a known repertory. I remember I was looking forward to learning guitar and my teacher told me that using the Berkley method would learn a lot. I didn't agree because guitar method books must be simple to read with easy songs to learn at home. Anyone who had the same problem with the Berkley guitar method?

Thanks, I watched a couple other videos...but yours was so clearly and thoughtfully taught. I'm 64 and just bought my first guitar yesterday. A dreadnought Yamaha F325D...a cheaper guitar, but I thought it sounded pretty good for a beginner guitar. Thanks again, I may check out your video for any other helps.
