This piece is not by Caccini but was composed in the 20th century. Just like Albinoni's "Adagio" was actually composed by Remo Giazotto (1910-1998).

Hello Vlad, You posted this lovely video a few years ago. What are you doing now? I’m sure you’ve grown as a musician over the last four years. Can we have a new recording?

This is phenomenal! I just discovered Maestro Colar because I heard his recording of Debussy's "En Bateau" for flute and harp. I'm now a fan. ;)

From the Braun (piccolo maker) website: "The cylindrical piccolo...is the conical inferior." Evidently they haven't listened to Mr. Colar play the instrument they made for him!

Wow so much more reminiscent of a concert flute in terms of the timbre (less shrill and more brilliant in the low register)

What firm of this piccolo? Is this Braun piccolo?
@vladcolar2430

Yes, it is a unique instrument made by Anton Braun in 1998. It is a Boehm system cylindricalI small flute. It has all the features of the grand concert modern Boehm flute, including the shape of the tube.

Refreshing musicality.What wooden flute is this that responds so quickly? Left hand notes are a bit higher in pitch,maybe the piano is tuned too high?

Raanan Eylon It’s a Braun Wooden Flute. He also makes fantastic Piccolo, and the Flute is remarcabile as well. You can Check His website: www.braunflutes.com

The material of a flute doesn't really change the sound. Given two flutes, one wood and one metal, sound differences can't be measured if both flutes have exactly the same headjoint type, lip plate, embouchure cut and riser, barrel length, tube shape, padding, and mechanics. Yes, even physicists have found this to be true.

@@rhwallis Wall thickness, weight,tube diameter,rough or smooth surface, cylinder curvature- all influence sound,independent of material.The flute played in this video is very thin.It responds way quicker than most wooden flutes.

What a find, I hadn’t heard of these performers before, but they are just phenomenal! LOVE the wood flute sound, and really wish one day I could find one like that. Must have been quite annoying for the pianist though, with the flutist casting a constantly moving shadow on her music...

@@vladcolar2430 Thanks for replying. I play a Parmenon PFL52 built in 1984-it was the parallel to the Ovatio(renamed by Parmenon's wife in 1992.It is excellent. A heavy flute with lots of resistance and quality. Its original headjoint is not good,and the B foot gives too much resistance,but the flute is excellent-similar to a heavy Haynes from their good times.

@@vladcolar2430 Very interesting. My Parmenon is from 1984 no. 98.It is excellent but is better with a light bright head and a good quality C foot joint.I use it with a Louis Lot head that has had the lipplate changed by Mehnert in Germany.
