If you record externally at 4:2:2 into an atomos etc. it really helps close the gap with the Blackmagic image detail. The Canon image looks more cinematic has more “dimension” where the Blackmagic renders a very “video-esque” aesthetic. Canon colors are better as well in my opinion. The same way red cameras crush Arri on paper but the Arri image is unbeatable something similar can be observed here… not in these examples but in my experience.
@alexshotthese9 күн бұрын
During my testing, the image that comes out of the recorder versus the in camera recording just doesn’t look all that different. You’ll definitely get less noise artifacts, but the moment you export it and upload it, it just doesn’t hold that information. So I’ve just stuck to shooting in camera because I’m just blown away they made this image look good with such a small bitrate.

Hi Alex! Could you please tell me if the camera on the left at 4:04 is a Canon? The skin tones look really lovely!! Maybe you could help me with taking a decision? I found your video while searching for sample footage from BMP and Canon cameras. I've been struggling for months to find the right camera for my run-and-gun project, where I need to follow my character, who cycles for long distances, then climbs slopes and high ladders on a five-story abandoned grain elevator, to name just one example. If you have any suggestions for a camera I could easily carry over my shoulder, I would really appreciate it!

Sorry I’m just now seeing this! The camera on the left at 4:04 is the Blackmagic actually! Both have really good colors. The canon just has everything built into it which is nice, but the Blackmagic definitely has that more cinematic quality to it. If I had to choose one for what you’re doing I’d go with canon.

I have been on android since 2011. I enjoyed the customization and the back button feature that is built in to the whole system. I recently went on a trip and my Pixel 6a kept dropping service, so I went to T-mobile to get a cheap phone that I could return within their 14-day return window. I have an iPad and MacBook pro, so I figured I could try out an iPhone. I went for a 64gb SE 3rd gen and I really liked how small it was. I returned the phone once I got home , upgraded my wife's phone to a Pixel 9, and I kept her Pixel 7. I really like it, but I missed how small the SE was. I ended up buying a 128gb SE on Swappa and have been loving it since it got the iOS 18 update. I have all my Google apps on it and a lot of apps I use have a swipe to go back function. Can't really go wrong with any phone nowadays, especially since you can get Android Messages on any computer and Google Keep notes to sync on any device. But, the form factor of the SE is what convinced me to keep it. I hope both Apple and Google go back to making smaller phones like the iPhone Mini or Pixel 5.

I use this lens all the time with our Bible Study & Sunday School lessons. I don’t move around that much while teaching so the EFS 35mm STM follows with no trouble. Since I control my lighting, I’ll use my EFS 18-135mm STM on the C100 MKII and Sigma 18-35mm Art on the C300 MKII.

Nice find! Question: at 1:53 you say "compared to this" pointing to the 50mm STM lens that focused faster, mounted on what camera, I assume the R5? So we are comparing 35mm F/2.8 EF-S on C100 II vs 50mm STM on R5 correct? If so, that explains the disparity in focussing speeds. Lens and camera difference! (1:53 suggests the audience just lens difference). What lenses aside the Sigma 18-35 and Canon 35mm f2 IS have you come to love and keep on the C100, that you can recommend us to try out?
@alexshotthese4 ай бұрын
@@sambalsamurai9672 thanks for watching and commenting! Appreciate it. At 1:11 I mention the second camera is the R5 with the 50mm. Using other STM lenses that enable autofocus for the C100mkii seem a lot snappier. Not to mention the standard auto focus where it just stays centered is pretty snappy. If you’re doing any crazy movements the 35mm wouldn’t be the one to go with but for talking head videos like this it’s perfectly fine.

Actually really comparable. The only thing I’d say is the C200 has over the C100mkii is more bitrate info being recorded. C100mkii is like 24mbps-35mbps where as the C200 is recording 150mbps. Just makes it more of a denser file but the C100mkii is no slouch. It’s magic how the image is put into that small of a file size.

I’m very happy with my13 Mini but it was a very difficult decision when I bought it cause my previous phone was an iPhone SE 1st gen and I loved the form factor and design.
@alexshotthese7 ай бұрын
That is a tough decision! The mini was, also, a great phone and powerful. Mini has already been chopped from the lineup so it's life expectancy will be less. The SE is looking like will be the last model of it's kind after this year. There are rumors of a new SE with it being all screen and 6.1in, which doesn't make sense. I wish they'd bring back the mini and make that the SE. I know I love touch ID and wish it would stick around in newer devices.
