@@Justin-ly9zw All the optics aside from the P2 mount through the plate in to the slide. You can direct mount but you’d have no support other than the screws. The plate will provide bosses into the slide and optic and is the appropriate way to mount them.

I still don't understand the fascination with their firearms. We've handled them a few times now, and have seen other models that feel and look just as good (if not better in some cases) for considerably less. I think it's mainly their marketing that hooks people rather than some state of the art technology like most perceive. We may pick one up for the channel one of these days, and I'll be the first to admit if I was wrong, but as of right now...I just don't see it. 🤷🏻♂️
@532Insight3 күн бұрын
@@whatwouldlewdo That’s a valid observation and applies to pretty much every commodity. Shooters will get what they need and collectors and entertrainers will get what they think people want to see. A well shot Glock 19 is far more impressive to me than a staccato in the safe. But I’ll admit I was impressed with the HD.
@whatwouldlewdo3 күн бұрын
@532Insight Oh, my. See, Glock is another manufacturer I take major grievances with. I have a gen 4 Glock 19, which was my very first gun (per the usual goofy YT advice), and I recently decided to pick it up and play with it now that I am much more knowledgeable and have better firearms. It felt horrible. The slow, creeping trigger...the terribly long reset...the slippery grip texture-- I just do not see what people see in Glock. I mean, personally speaking, by the time I put the money and effort into making that thing something that I was excited to shoot and carry, I could get a much better model. I'm sure you're extremely familiar with Glock being LEO, but I would think that you could agree that they are subpar firearms at best.
@532Insight3 күн бұрын
@ The Glock in all its iterations is just one of those guns we put up with. They can absolutely be shot at a high level but it takes more work to get people up to speed because of the things you describe. Lots of options out there and people need to shoot what appeals to them and fits them. For the LEOs who don’t have a choice beyond Glock, it’s not an excuse it just requires effort.

My only concern is the rear-sight at this point. I think it should be a dovetail design to be more robust, as opposed to pinned. I guess we'll see once reviewers start racking their slides off of them how robust they are going to be. Love the rest. Cheers!

The only personal questions I can think of after everything I’ve heard is can I get it with a single side safety? To what degree are these guns hand fit (are their machines able to accomplish the high tolerances reliably over time without need for any real fitting)? Are you able to shoot +P+ ammo out of them? It’s unnecessary because the barrel has sufficient length, but it’s still good to get an answer. Does the buffer piece need to be replaced in the recoil assembly after a certain round count? Will the spacer plates and adapter plates for optics like the acro be being shipped with the guns in the near future at no additional cost? And did y’all not go with a linkless barrel because there was no apparent advantage over a linked barrel and/or did you want to not make it to different from your current line of guns that use traditional 1911 style linked barrels? That’s about it I think

Obvious frame changes in the original full size guns and knowingly lying about it. No thanks

I have to agree with you on the marketing especially. I still like my P, so it will be sticking around. But for the money that one spends on a Staccato, they could do better.
