They did do one cover for a Video Game titled "Memories of Wind and Wine " (Dawn Winery Theme from Genshin Concert 2022). When you get to that time period, I hope you feature it because it shows How the Band can take a song and play it straight up as it was, then bring it to ROCK OUT, and finally make it wholly BAND-MAID. It IS an instrumental, so no Saiki, but it's definitely a great addition to their roster of deliberate instrumental tunes.

As you know, I prefer mid-tempo and slower songs - this has been in my top five since I first heard it. MISA's bass work in the second verse is high-level. In the live, Saiki unlocked superstar mode. Now I know the exact place and time I'd visit if I ever find a time machine (Yokohama Arena, Nov. 2023).

I didn't know they filmed this on Oshima. My wife and I visited Oshima a few times over the years, very interesting place. The first time was only a couple years after the volcano erupted in the 1980s. What a scene for this MV. "No giving up-this struggle is the mark of life." No truer words have ever been spoken, life is both struggle and joy, that is what makes it real. I hope the best for you and your family member with the health issue, always a hard situation to work through, but as you said we all must at some point in life.

This song gained importance at the end of one of their US tours. There were a lot of tears on stage that day probably from exhaustion and joy at a very successful tour- particularly from Akane of all people, who is usually the coolest of them all, but she completely lost it during the playing of this song. There is fan cam footage of this song.
@I_am_Warthog10 күн бұрын
Akane is very sentimental and is probably the easiest "crier" in Band-Maid. At the recent event where Kanami was presented with her PRS Signature guitar, she posted on Twitter about how Akane had been crying. This is what she wrote... " Also, after the talk ended and I returned to the dressing room, Ah-chan's nose was bright red. Apparently she cried earlier than anyone else and the most than anyone else 😂 Ahhh, it's so funny! It's the best!! ❤ " There's just something so heartwarming about how much the maids care about and are so supportive of each other.

This song was a bucket list items for the band. Playing it in a large arena…Saiki added the beginning and ending parts for this concert to thank their fans. I'm ready for the Onion Ninjas! Bring it! Kanami, our Mincho, was the 1st Japanese artist to ever receive a signature PRS guitar. the other MAIDS were in attendance rooting her on. It was very emotional. They had several Japanese bands at their 10th anniversary show sitting close, and seeing Saiki wave at them is precious. this closed out the show, and most teared up. Onion Ninja time!

It's a perfect anthem song... The American in me wants that last refrain to repeat a few more times (we were raised on infinitely repeating song-endings, weren't we?) But Band-Maid is teaching me that less is more, with their brief guitar solos and snappy song endings. :-)

First of all, I would like to wish you and your family all the best in dealing with the situation you have found yourselves in. Stay strong! (I know you will.) I grew up in Hawaii and have been to the black sand beach at Punalu'u on the Big Island, but man, it was a long time ago. This is such a great song and their performance of it at Yokohama brought tears to my eyes with its sincerity and emotional power. Maybe the Maids are speaking to you. 👍 By the way, you should take a look at Ohrenje's documentary of that concert.

I was born in Hawaii but have almost no memories of it because we left when I was so young. It might have been that same beach (I'm really not sure) that I visited. It was 1978 when we left Japan and stopped at half a dozen Pacific locations -- including Hawaii -- on the way back. Thank you for the well-wishes; we're going to do our best and when I need a boost, I have Band-Maid as my emotional support. :-)

This is a wonderful song when they play it live. An anthem that the audience can sing along to. Yes I had the moist eyes when I saw the Yokohama concert stream live and whenever I revisit the dvd. I feel so jealous and envious when I read through the comments of those that have seen the Band live. I still can appreciate them through their live DVDs. PRS doesn't do all that many signature models, so for Kanami to have one is a real and well-deserved honor. As far as the Endless Story mv, those are drone shots. Band-Maid uses drone shots extensive when shooting outdoors. There's a behind the scenes video available on their website (fan-club only) for Endless Story showing this. As to the live video, yes, it's the last song of a 3 hour 40+ minute show. It's an absolutely amazing concert, beginning to end.

Chan, there's no need to react to "Endless Story" again, but the song was the ending of the Band-Maid 10th Anniversary Tour finale concert at the Yokohama Arena in November 2023. They did release an official live video of the song on their KZbin channel. The song with the heartfelt singing by Saiki and her emotional thanks wo the audience and the improvised words at end of the song was not only an emotional moment for the Maids, but the audience as well. There were not many dry eyes anywhere. It was such a beautiful moment to watch.

I can never hear this now without thinking of Akane crying during this song at their last 2022 US Tour venue House of Blues in Chicago. @@_JimS It seems she had a really emotional few days at the end of the tour. If you watch the behind the scenes from the US tour in 2022, Akane seems to have been the one who was nursing Kanami through her illness during the NJ show, and this was just 2 days later. And she was probably ready to go home. They traversed the US from Seattle to CA to Texas, up the East Coast and over to Chicago in less than 3 weeks.

If I heard someone else correctly, this was PRS's first signature guitar from the Asain market. This is truly a unique guitar, and Konami earned it. Also, just a curious thought. I remember that back in Japanese culture women would dyed their teeth black. I wonder if it was a tribute to the uniqueness of the black sandy beaches. Lastly, I have a granddaughter who is 6 years old. The doctors told us unfortunately she probably will not celebrate her 7th birthday with us. Truly sorry for you, as well as any family going thru difficult medical issues.

I'm so sorry to hear about your granddaughter. I have no words; just know I'm wishing strenuously that every moment you get to spend with her will be beautiful. It was obvious how tired they were at the end when they stepped down from their stands & slowly walked over to Akane for the finish. They were spent. But Akane had to keep working on the drums, to the very last beat.
@Chan_Fry11 күн бұрын
Yes, at the end, it was much more clear how fatigue had set in. Early in the song, though, I just caught a bit of strain around the eyes on Kanami and MISA, and a bit of not-quite-full-power Miku. Saiki and Akane looked powered up until very near the end. :-)

Every few minutes since I recorded this two days ago, I've caught myself humming the closing refrain... "Stay with me / You can't relive the moment / I'll never change / The life is beautiful" ... It's Interesting to me that I was exposed to KISS as my first "Rock Band" and picked up their first 3 albums in a set, and seeing how far These girls (With a similar 'costume gimmick') progressed in their style by the 3rd album so much further than those guys did is amazing. Miku's facial expressions during Her parts on the second verse in the video makes me think some of Her experiences are showing forth in this lyric writing.

These 5 personalities are each my favorite member of the Band, and I can't imagine BAND-MAID without any one of them, sure they do instrumentals without Saiki's presence and the stage seems empty, but you can always feel Her there watching from the Eather, "The Spirit of Saiki" is with them despite Her absence.

I'm pretty sure Springsteen pulled Courtney Cox onto stage in Her "Big Break Debut" in a fully packed, but obviously staged 'Full Concert' video for "Dancin' in the Dark" back in the day, so it's not unthinkable they could do the same for Our Favorite Band here, although I personally believe most of these shots are from a REAL concert performance.

I really enjoy this style of video, it reminds me of my High School days, sitting in my best friend's Livingroom listening to a brand-new album from one of our favorite bands on His dad's expensive stereo system commenting and mutually appreciating the music one track at a time, so thank you for this. "Brand New Road" is great and has a "Mondegreen" for me in the words you have read from the lyric sheet as "Dirty Fighting" I have heard it (and noted it in my notes on the song in Media Player) as "Daddy's Working". I raised two daughters (the oldest being Miku's age) and the phrase was often thrown about as they grew up. I love the way Miku and Saiki pronounce 'English Words' in their songs, (their accents are so cute) but I rarely catch them correctly without subtitles.

Chan--your Japanese pronunciation is excellent! Don't worry about which syllable should have the accent because none of them do. Japanese is a stress-timed language, not a syllable-timed one like English. I had never heard all of the Band Maiko songs before, so I really enjoyed getting to this time. My favorite was "Akasimahen," their version of "Awkward." The original is one of my best-liked Maids songs and I loved hearing all the traditional instruments used for this new version. I'm also glad Kanami finished with the same incredible outro solo from "Awkward." The best part though, was the Saiki Sigh.
