Yea most Whirlpool OEM parts (but not all) are reasonably priced enough to just get them. These washers and their companion cheap model dryer are such a good simple design that I really don’t get why U would really want to buy anything else

FYI ALSO make sure you check those heater tubes that hit your firewall on the passenger side. The nipples are made of cheap plastic, so over time they corrode and you will dump all your coolant, which will blow your head gasket. Luckily I was stopped in a neighborhood and we were able to duct tape the nipple back on (always keep that miracle tape handy!) and a nice lady let me use her garden hose to fill my radiator. I was only a few miles from home and got the nipple at the local parts store for cheap. Then you have to get a special puller tool (I have a set of various sizes) which pulls the old nipple off the firewall. EZ fix but if it blows on the road you are screwed. Again, they get crumbly over time due to the heat, so just wiggle the thing by hand and check it, or if it looks questionable, just change it.

UPDATE... Well the 420 code came back on, so I fudged it for the last inspection (either keep venting the gas cap yourself or keep the tank filled past 3/4 and the evap test will not happen = you still pass emissions). NOW I finally went in for an oil pan leak and they found a crack in one of the vent tubes coming from the gas tank which AGAIN cracked the vent solenoid (moisture gets in and then freezes which expands the solenoid)!. They repaired the tube and replaced the solenoid again, and i'm due for another inspection in April 2023. The truck is still running strong. FYI I had a transmission rebuild about 2 years ago because a cooling tube broke on me and all the fluid leaked out, which ruined my transmission -CHECK those tubes which attach to your radiator for issues and if they are corroded or have bad clamps, replace them to keep this from happening to you. Also make sure you change the ATF fluid as recommended. I also had a stuck valve which was causing raw fuel to dump out my exhaust. The shop misdiagnosed that at first, so they replaced my spider injector at no charge!. The valve fix cost me 1200 bucks, though. Anywho better than buying a new truck these days. Im at about 155k miles now b/c I only use it in the summer, mostly weekends. THANKS FOR WATCHING AND LMK IF YOU HAVE ANY OTHER ISSUES YOU WANT TO TALK ABOUT.

Disconnect the hose at the cannister, not that solenoid. Remove the grounding bolt and the bracket bolt using the 13 and 10mm. Disconnect the electrical clamp and then pull the entire solenoid and bracket out together. Once you get it out you squeeze in on the clamp holding the hose on the solenoid... it is easy to get off once you know what you are doing. Not knowing causes masive grief.

you need to angle your rock so they can climb onto easier. if you have room. one of them lil baby pools at walmart is great for them. i raised one of mine for like 25yrs...grew huge. great vid buddy. i love my turtles. i got a breeding pair of box turtle now. i like them better cause no water change a filters etc. :)

I appreciate your sharing. by 9 minutes in I wanted to punch a frikkin wall as I still had no idea where the hell the bracket bolted to the truck! The frame???? It was not until your shot at 11:22 that you showed it!. The other thing still driving me nuts is not once did I visualize the connector that slips onto the Solenoid? Is it long enough to come out into the wheel well? There is no way in hell I would put that thing back up there if I could just get an extension onto that plug.

That foam didn't age well. I remember getting that set back in the 80's. So young I was and painted then I did. sadly, so not have any of them any more.

Did mine today 03 4.3 Silverado I took the bed off in 10 minutes pretty easy job but my engine light came right back on after is was cleared. I did Vent valve solenoid, purge valve and wire still says vent valve

Spray some WD40 (or its equivalent) on the EVAP hose, it helps it to move easier on the remaining hose clamp. Thanks for the great howto!

Same year truck. I cut 3 sides of a 1'x1' hole and bent the panel up. Resecured with metal strap and zip screws, gorilla tape sealing the cuts. This hole properly laid out and cut gave me extra visibility and access on this job. You reminded me to thoroughly inspect my parts coming out. I'm seeking a problem and I have to go back and check the old hose and canister now.
