Here's an idea...how about if you want to place out political signs you have to go to your local town hall and pay a fee that is reimbursed when all of the signs are removed.
@gwendolyngailstenersen44482 ай бұрын
Thanks for the video. I have a large collection of burnt-out lightbulbs too, and like you, some are mixed with working ones.🙃 I've been saving them for an idea(s) too. My first thought was Christmas bulbs. I was also bewildered at how to dismantle them so I thought I'd just paint them with scenes or something and leave the innards inside. I'm eager to see what you make next with them. I'd love to find a simple way to remove that metal top.

@@gwendolyngailstenersen4448 thanks! I might tinker with it more and see if it’s worth the trouble, but I like your idea of painting them. Sounds easier and safer.

@@thathippielookingchick With the old incandescant you cant do much as the glass bulb is a sealed unit. The glass just tapers to plaster and the wire sticks out and joins to the base.The glass is thin and sharp, so good luck.

I used them in my Camping Toilet instead of buying the Specific Bags meant for them... I would throw them away Tripled Bagged, which I was Told By The CITY Is No Different than throwing the Camping Bags away and LEGAL, but the Garbage Collectors told me they would Refuse to Collect my garbage if I continued to.. So I started throwing them away at the Gas Station down road. Again, LEGAL!... I am No Longer allowed at that Gas Station. So I started throwing them away at Random Gas Stations and at Walmart.. I use a Gray one Stuffed with several others and hang on my Porch to keep Carpenter Bees and other Insects away because they think it is a Wasp Nest.

Research a Johanna (UK name) compost bin, it can take meat as well. I don't recommend a big open compost bay in home yard/garden as they attract vermin. The Johanna is excellent because it is sealed and heats better to kill pathogens. They are plenty big enough for household waste. Hope you can find one! Hope you succeed at your goals too.

I don't know what zone you're in, but here is what I would do in my zone 5/6 shade: Shrubs: hydrangea (be sure to check tags though, not all of them like shade) dogwood, azalea/rhododendron Flowers: Hardy Geranium (not zonal geranium) woodland peony, hellebores, pulmonaria (lungwort) bluebells, astilbe, bleeding heart, columbine, meadow rue Foliage: Solomon's seal, heuchera, celosia, ostrich fern, and the ubiquitous hostas if you like them. I can't advise on grasses because I don't personally favor them, but I know there are a few. You have a lovely space to work with, it will be a restful retreat for you when you're done! I have this helps! :)

Hello, new subscriber here. I love how you redesigned your backyard. I am trying to decide how to bring my back and side yards to life. I was thinking about putting rocks on top of the garden fabric down. But looking at your gravel, I was wondering if it would be a better choice. Thanks for sharing.
@thathippielookingchick4 ай бұрын
I made the mistake of not laying down the fabric before the gravel so I've got vines growing through already. Sometimes I rush to get things done. I'd love to see what you do.

I bought my abandoned house several years ago and can honestly say you will NEVER be DONE!! You learn stuff along the way that increases your knowledge base so then you're willing to try even more things to replace or add to what you previously did. But overall I LOVE what you have done so far!! Great job!! Oh yes, I saged my house as well. It couldn't hurt!! 🤣😂

Paint the fence around your air conditioner same as decking and fence. Get better dolly wagon for yard. Burn every wood you can, I like the border beds and you can ar kill weeds when needed.

usually the ugly side of the fence should face your yard unless you live in an hoa community or other restrictions. the reason is if someone wanted to get into your yard you just gave them easy access. if the pretty side was on the outside the criminal would have to turn around and get a ladder or something else. no offense meant. the patio looks great. i never knew those pavers could be put on the ground like that. so if you dont mind pulling weeds dont worry about this comment. heavy duty fabric before you put the gravel down would have been helpful.
@thathippielookingchick4 ай бұрын
@@spicynomad I had that option when I first had it installed. The guy who installed it suggested, I have the pretty side facing in since the outside is surrounded by thornbushes and other obstacles.
