I went back there in 2017 for nostalgia purposes and couldn't believe how shabby and worn the park looked. Just hasn't evolved at all and how it remains open is beyond me.

When you employ young people to check safety equipment on rides don't expect them to follow the rules and regulations; they're simply incapable of thinking about the consequences of their actions or inactions and most of them don't give a shit. What you can expect is tragedy as in the case of the last ride you mentioned. Point in case: I went on a swing ride at the end of 2022 and the girl operating it didn't check to see if all the passengers were safely restrained before heading back to operate the ride, so I started yelling at her for help. If the bitch hadn't come back and properly restrained us, people would've been flung to their deaths. This isn't the first-time lax operators have nearly caused an accident while I've been on them. I hadn't been on a ride for years, so I thought I'd give them another whirl. I wasn't scared but very pissed off. When the company comes back into town, I will put in a complaint.

I'm pretty sure that is the third accident at Oakwood that I know of, but one of them as far as I know wasn't in the papers because it happened just days after the smiler accident however I might have the wrong themepark!!!

Before anyone gets too nervous about visiting amusement parks because of these detailed stories, keep in mind that you're alot more likely to be hurt or killed in your car on the way to the amusement park. If someone were to post a detailed story about every car accident that occurred over the years in which someone was badly injured or killed, it would be a hell of alot more stories than you can find about amusement park accidents. Yet I'm sure we're all going to still go out and drive our cars again today or very soon.

Hell to the naw! Riding through the tree tops is pretty but too far up off the ground for me. People are trying to be to freaking fancy.

You should have let everyone know that Aspro parks didn’t own Oakwood when that poor girl lost her life, you make it sound like the current owners have a long string of accidents before the investigation has been completed. The park was sold by the previous owners to Aspro after they were prosecuted. The latest incident is regrettable and awful for the people involved but the investigation find the truth. You read and amalgamated every news report out there but forgot to mention that Aspro parks bought the park after the death and both accidents were not their fault.
