Thank you so much for sharing your experience with us! It’s so interesting to hear how different this role can look depending on the school. In my experience this year, I was at a school that hired multiple intervention teachers & tutors using covid funding. Because of that, our positions are also temporary. I’m so sorry to hear the funding got cut at your school! 😢 that’s so hard and something I’m not looking forward to. I admire your ability to make the best of the situation!! After having intervention groups this year, I realized 4th grade is one of my favorite ages!! I can’t wait to hear about your experience! 💓 I feel like we have a lot in common - I am also an introvert, which has me thinking I want to pursue this role even if it means going to different schools. It’s a trade off that I feel is worth it. On the other hand, I do think I would give the classroom another chance one day - but I feel like a lot of things would have to change in the current climate of education for me to choose that.

Thank you for your sweet comment! It makes my day reading these 💜I totalllyyyy understand going to different schools if it means staying in a small group position. Us introverts need as much peace and quiet as possible lol I wish you all the best next year and hope you enjoy your summer 😌

What an awesome video! As an ESE teacher myself, I want to say a huge THANK YOU for providing RTI services and giving students a chance to be staffed! You had a tremendous year and thanks for sharing your pros and cons! My husband and I are going to Gatlinburg, TN for a week next week! My summer officially begins this week after Tuesday and Wednesday post-planning. I'm so excited about my new school and new ESE position! What are you teaching during summer school? Keep the fantastic videos coming!

Katie!! I always appreciate your comments so much! Thank YOU! I hope you and your husband enjoy your vacation, Gatlinburg is beautiful!! My husband and I will be staying there for a couple of nights this summer as well :) During summer school, it's reading all day errrday! So basically a lot of comprehension, phonics, vocabulary.. ya know just trying to keep the kids entertained for 6 hours lol I hope you have an amazing summer you are SO close and you are going to rock it at your new school!! 😊

Hi! Thanks for another great video, Poppy! I love your makeup routine for school! I always start the school year with full makeup and cute outfits with matching purses. After a few months I'm down to the makeup basics and dresses. At the end of the year it's all about the leggings and long sleeve shirt. I'd love to see a video about your next year school plans! You seem to be a perfect fit as an RTI specialist, but you will SHINE in any job you decide!

Hi!! Will you make a video about your next school year plans? I’ve been following you since I was in school for teaching - 2019. Got through all the pandemic things & then I saw your video post a few weeks ago and I couldn’t believe it!!! I always wondered where you went! I was also excited to see you were now an intervention teacher - this is my first year as an intervention teacher and have loved it! I’ve actually decided to go for my Master’s in reading to continue down the path. I would love to hear more about your experience in the role too 😊

Hey there! 💜 I can definitely make a video about next years school plans. Things are still up in the air right now, but I should know within the next couple of weeks :) Thank you for sticking with me.. I know I went off the grid for 2 years lol but I'm so glad to be back! How do you like being an intervention teacher? I have absolutely loved it! I could definitely include my experience in this position in the next year update video

@@poppy9830 I really loved it! It is a great fit for me. From being an introvert and preferring working with small groups, to my own struggles with reading as a student & being able to help students who have some of the same struggles. The work/life balance has been significantly better. I enjoyed being able to focus on one subject area instead of all subjects (I taught first grade last year). Of course it had some things I didn’t love, such as having to do state testing and take on two middle school classes because they were able to add them in to my schedule. Truly, though, I ended up loving my middle school students!! I feel like the experience really taught me to embrace the unknown/unexpected & be more flexible. All in all it was an amazing year! ❤️ I am planning on starting my Master’s in reading in the fall. I want to continue down this path!

Awesome video, Poppy!! Thanks for sharing your morning with your viewers! I love your idea of 15 minutes of chill time in the morning. I work in a PK-8th school, which is total chaos at times! I'm in the habit of getting to school really early, before the kids, so I can sort of ease into the day. In my county in Florida, we have 10 days left with kids, then two post-planning days. We just finished FSA's, now just makeup tesing. Your videos are so positive and really a joy to watch! Thank you! I'd love to see a makeup tutorial, especially a before school one. At the beginning of this school year I was putting on full makeup, including eye shadow, liner, and mascara. LOL, not any more! Now I'm down to some some foundation, powder, blush and all-day lipstick. Thanks again!

Yesss I NEED my peace in the morning! I live in FL as well and it's the same for us! We have 3 days of testing this upcoming week (5th grade science/makeups) and then the week after we have a full day and then 3 half days! So excited... but I will be doing summer school lol 🙃 Thank you so much for your sweet comments on my videos <3 I would love to do a makeup tutorial because I'm the exact same way... used to do full face and now it's just the basics! 😂

So funny and true! Totally spot on! I cracked up at the pencil breaker! This is great timing as I just finished FSA testing for 5th grade ESE Math today. This morning I had the non-stop toe tapping the student and the student who suddenly had a stomach ache. Thanks Poppy, you are AWESOME!

You answered all the questions for the interview in this one answer. You answered what is your teaching philosophy and a bit of classroom management. Basically “tell me about yourself” means to talk about your professional and student experience in education.
@poppy98302 жыл бұрын
I'm not sure if I'm misunderstanding your comment, but I am basically just giving a little bit of background of my experience in teaching. I do not go in depth at all. This prompts whoever is interviewing to ask questions such as, "You said you took over for a teacher on maternity leave, can you tell us more about that?" Or, "You mentioned that your internship gave you experience in classroom management, can you tell us some strategies you used to keep control of the class?" Yes I mention my teaching philosophy and classroom management, but like I said, I do not go into detail so that the interviewer can specifically ask more about those topics in the interview.
