This is great craftsmanship but I don't think I'd like them being thicker. The sole is now at least 5mm thicker than it was before. I've worn Cons my whole life and this would throw the feel completely off. Stand taller and probably feel more cushion, but that's not what I wear them for.

If the shoes came with stitching, the sole would not separate easily at all. I will only buy leather shoes with stitching unless it is very cheap.

Nice! Unfortunately this is NOT unusual with the black soled & "shock point" Eccos & most ecco users probably do NOT realize that these shoes can be resoled!... TY... I LOVE MY ECCOS!

Do you know why the sole ends up extending forward? I don’t understand how the sole ends up bigger than the boot length.

its because its not glued its fused using high temperature, after that it gets smaller shape and if you remove it it becomes too big. You can just reglue it using barge or any other shoe glue and trim it :)

That's a sander , you can do the same by sanding by hand with a sandpaper nr 80 or 100, it is used to better adhere the glue by creating micro cuts
