I think COMC is great if you don’t have time to do the work listing the cards on eBay yourself.

You know if you pay $1, they'll be posted within a few weeks, right? Just don't send anything worth less than $5. Its a great tool if you know how to use it. I'm just an average collector, definitely don't have a massive collection. In 18 months, I've sold over $35k and 80% of the cards I've submitted have sold. You can turn unwanted junk into stuff you actually want... or cash if you don't mind paying 10%.

Appreciate your info. I did know about the elevated service. Any card i have over $20 i sell on ebay. Mainly i want it for crda that arent worth grading and are below $20. Selling $35k in 18 months, i wouldnt sell yourself short as just an average collector.

Lmao crowd company charging hundreds of dollars for cards not worth 20 bucks, continuesly listing same card over and over for 3 years at same price. It’s not about getting cards into collectors hands, it’s about how much you can milk out of some one. Perfect example as to why this hobby sucks now

COMC is definitely a learning experience. You get out what you put in. Definitely have to lose some money on submissions figuring out what moves and what flips well. Definitely a ton of fees they stack on and continue to collect. Definitely a penny race to the bottom. Numbered and color stuff - cool card wrong character or player - seems to be the best option where you can set it and forget it. You can also run sales to help with stale inventory as well if you don’t want to constantly adjust prices

Yeah i was aware of this. Still makes fees on same level as ebay for the most part. But as more people use comc the service actually gets less valuable. I think they eventually make more money on storing cards than selling them.
@scoa2 күн бұрын
You can safely ignore SRP, it means nothing on COMC. Submission fee is $0.50 per card (has been for a long time). All the fees are outlined pretty clearly if you look into it. I sell and buy on COMC a lot. I love the platform.

Wow- the algorithm had wonderful timing to bring me to this great channel! Hey - I’ve been obsessed w COMC after being inspired by vids from Breakout Sports- I started in COMC as a buyer/collector, particularly minis (A&G), music cards (particularly soul artists) , boxing cards & 2024 Topps baseball- that’s what I collect. But over the last six months I’ve downloaded the app & been arbitraging cards when finding a good buy/sell opportunity. I have then funded some grading for a bunch of cards due back. But I’ve built a store without sending anything whatsoever. So I now have a store with ≈650 cards for sale, which I hope future sales can fund sending cards that I know would sell well on COMC from watching. I have since discovered that many old cards, early 1900s, 1920’s etc can sit ignored in my store, but if in good condition will sell for multiples more! I bought a beautiful card from the 1920s for like 2 bucks. Paid a buck, send to auction , sells for 18.50! But there are mixed results, you can get burned if the card is not unique, it will sell for 1.24 or something. It’s a work in progress, hope to keep you updated on my results Sorry if I overshared..but I hope I helped and would be happy to help in future if desired . I shall now check out some of your other vids ✌️

Just seems one bleeds $$ in the arena. Too difficult to comprehend all the ins and outs. Months to post the cards is not good. What would it cost to get the cards back if they don t sell? How long to get them back ? As you noted if they are just sitting in your collection doing nothing well, perhaps ebay would be better and sell them as lots. Might get a better result. They would not be in limbo at COMC.

It was hard to follow you. But isn't ComC a humongous bargain bin where there's hundreds of most cards with a race to the boittom? I thought people send boxfuls of cards to ComC just to get rid of them and whatever they get out of it is gravy. It is what it is.

rittenhouse is just junk with all these sets now...such trash. but i do have a fun story. i was one of the dealers who got a 16-case season 1 GOT order. i think cases were about $560. i was trying to get $999 case....sold a few at $750 i think. i bought the 16 so i would get the archive set, short guy and bean too. i do remember steve saying back in the day short guy was going to be the smallest signed auto....in archive and only handful in boxes. anyway over next two years i probably sold most at $1500...had 4 cases left and sold $2500 and the last was $5000. this was likely 2017. i opened 1 case. i remember on ebay back in 2012 someone opened a 16 case order and stopped at autos...because nobody wanted the "cards". so you basically got 15 cases (packs) of got 1 for $250. i opened 1 case myself. sold the autos but nothing crazy. i have 3-4 beans left. i had 2 archive sets and sold both in 2017 for $5000 each. i really didn't plan to sell those but at $5k i thought money was better.

COMC charges submission fees as cards are processed. If you have a negative balance, they hold your cards until you get it back to positive, then restart processing. Those "pending" cards will stay in limbo until then. It also looks like your sub was sent at the "standard" level, which should be $0.50/card. COMC charges a separate $0.50 toploader removal fee which probably is inflating your cost. I send mine penny sleeved in 550 ct boxes, two to a USPS Priority Mail Flat Rate Medium box. The storage fees are $0.01 per month per card priced over $0.75 after 90 days. The "enhanced security fee" is only charged on cards over $50 and is $0.01 per day per $1000 of that value. Also the SRP is useless and no one pays attention to it.
@notsportscards4 күн бұрын
Really appreciate the info. Helps me out. Didnt send my in toploaders so no idea why the extra fees. A oenny a month is reasonable for storage.

@notsportscards4 күн бұрын

@padwin4 күн бұрын
Did you send these in toploaders? There might be an extra toploader removal fee. As for the sales, it can take a while for the cards to show up on ebay (that you are the cheapest option for) which might impact the sales during the initial period. I think once they finish processing the intake in full you get an email with a spreadsheet and the detailed cost breakdown. Something that's absolutely terrible in my opinion about comc is how they group sketch cards by <Product, Artist> which means only the cheapest <Product, Artist> card gets propagated to ebay. Similar issue with comic cuts - <Product, Comic No> grouping.

Huyang Tennant autos have been around for a while, on card too, not live action though. Anyway, this just seems like a breakers product, expect it was mostly sold on mass to wholesale accounts which is why it sold out so quick & flipped by the likes of D&A. Good info. Thanks. Glad i just got the ezra and can move on..
@padwin5 күн бұрын
I think the reason you won't see sets like these anymore is to some extent actually breakers. When they were opening these they had no idea what character or actor they were looking at, and complained a lot about it being too sophisticated. 31:06 all the /7 should be foils unless a great mistake was made, as that's how it's done with the rest of the cards in this set. The base chopper ones are /5 (so rarer in this set) which I believe you previously featured pictures of on your channel. Many characters have multiple 1/1s, to my mind the eye appeal is much more important here than what the card is numbered out of. Afaik back then word on the street was that in a 20 box case you could expect two hits with the hits being bigger main characters like for example Finn, Krennic or Bodhi.
@notsportscards5 күн бұрын
Not all other /7 rebels carda are foils. But gou know more than me on this one.
@padwin5 күн бұрын
Good to know. The consensus among collectors is that they stamped these cards before they were signed, as from time to time we see an auto overlap on top the stamping.

The Filoni autos were definitely put in 2018 Galaxy packs. Topps did a press release on it and I watched a streamer on WhatNot open a 2018 Galaxy pack and hit a 2018 galactic files Chopper Dave Filoni /23 auto. I was so shocked cuz I had no idea they even existed and then I went down the rabbit hole and sure enough multiple people have hit them and posted. Personally, I think $2400 for that particular chopper foil auto was a great deal. Dave just simply doesn’t sign for topps products and he’s most likely the future of Star Wars. And yeah I love the old archives signature series sets. I wish topps would bring that set back instead of giving us regular signature series which is the biggest waste of money in SW imo….

Rittenhouse doesn't do stickers but they do hold back autos. They have ideas for prospective sets and have the cards printed and signed years before the set is released. There's an upcoming Star Trek set that'll have Leonard Nimoy (d. 2015) autos. That seems better because at least the signer knows what the card will look like and can veto designs.
@notsportscards10 күн бұрын
Interesting, didnt know this. Still sits better knowing the signer was involved with the card.
