2024 NEW UPDATE: - The video did not work for me fully, I was still asked a password, but the below worked. - After you reboot to safe mode, stay at safe mode and uninstall. - If it works, you will be asked to delete Trend Micro folder manually. - Find these folders in Program Files and delete. - If you can't delete the folders, you need to go MSConfig --> Services and deactivate all Trend Micro services, it will reboot to safe mode, and now you can delete those folders for full uninstallation. - MSConfig again to switch off safe boot. - Done Help like so everyone can see and benefit!!

Those who are still struggling, it might be because the DNS cache is holding the file. Press Win + R; this will open a window. Type "regedit" and press Enter. Go to this path: "Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Dnscache" On the right side of the window, you will see a "Start" value; double-click it. Set the data value to 4 (this will disable the DNS cache). Restart the PC. Go to the /etc folder, copy the hosts file to another location, make the changes there, save it, and move the file back to /etc. Click "Replace," open the new hosts file, and click "Keep Changes." Repeat the first part, but instead of 4, use 2 to enable the DNS cache. Restart.

NOPE, this did NOT fix the Temp Limit RESET ON RESTART. The Temp Limit is what always resets on windows restart and it's the only feature i use in Afterburner.
