I’m on my way to do my A levels in a year Do I need to take AP courses still? Do A levels have enough rigour for Ivy League universities?
@debtfree.degrees
@debtfree.degrees 4 күн бұрын
@@drgouth To answer in short, yes, they have enough rigor. I want you to consider a few other things: 1. Does your school offer AP? If not, don't worry about it at all. 2. Does you school offer IB? Sometimes this can help because you would be taking very challenging courses. However, if your school doesn't have this, don't worry about it. 3. A Level courses are already known to be extremely challenging. Pick A Levels related to the field you want to study and then try to get top marks. This will help you the most.

I have a question! I am looking to go into either medical school or engineering, and im a junior. My school only offers 4 aps for juniors, (which im taking) and only one of those are related to the field i want to go into. Im starting to self study for ap chem and ap physics 1, but online i saw articles which stated that self studying is looked down upon in college admissions (especially UCs). So i am conflicted, i want to show my knowledge in the subject but is self studying really bad? Please let me know!!
@debtfree.degrees
@debtfree.degrees 3 ай бұрын
It's definitely not bad! If you want to take the exams on your own, you should absolutely do so because scoring high can help you earn college credits for a discounted price. You can also explain in the additional information section of your application how you wanted to display your skills since your school did not offer the program you wanted. This is completely valid!

Exactly. How are you supposed to know WTF you wanna do in life when, you haven't done anything to help make that decision.. Go to JUCO, get a part time job involving the field you are interested in and figure out if its what you want. If not, reset. You owe it to yourself to make the best choice.
