I like to bury the guy that said Daniel Bryan was popular before Punk left. Bryan got over as a heel when doing the tag team with Kane and doing the Yes/No chant. Punk was still popular even more then Bryan. With that been said Punk and Bryan was in the 2014 rumble. Yes Bryan was over during but once he got eliminated the fans moved quick to Wyatt and others. When fans found out Punk left Bryan was the next in line. And i like to point something out, WMXX Bryan was not supposed to face Triplet H it was Punk. With Punk leaving Bryan took that spot. Now about injury pron, i can say the same about Bryan. As i remember Bryan vacated the title due to injury. Then lost it to Orton at SummerSlam. WWE didn't want Bryan as Champion and it was well documented before and after. It wasn't until the fans started shitting on the produce that WWE had to go full blown with Bryan. One last thing about stupid people like that guy. Punk said Wrestling was ruin cause of what WWE did. Didn't Bret said after the Screwjob his passion for wrestling was destroyed. Yes Bret still did cause thats all he knew what was he suppose to do. This should go to anybody that has been working at their job for 10 years and then the company decided to shut down leaving hundreds of people out of a job and only having 1 skill to show for it. This guy mad that Punk wanted to try out for UFC and other stuff. Oh plz shut up, Punk or any wrestler doesn't have to carter to you and how he or she wants to do after wrestling. If anyone is a Mark this guy surely is the biggest. The Marks the ones that believe their shit when they can see straight. Too this day people believe Maven wasn't eliminated in the Rumble. And those people are stupid to even go back and watch it. Even Maven thinks he wasn't eliminated but in fairness he got the shit beaten out of him. This guy wants to believe what he wants to believe sorry dude your a Mark.

There's no debate - he's a massive ticket mover that achieved crossover success to a degree few wrestlers do. He wasn't a Rock/Hogan/Austin/Taker but he's in the tier directly below that, alongside the likes of Hart/Michaels/Angle. In terms of mic work, he's one of the best ever. He's no slouch in the ring and works well with multiple styles. He has a unique look and is beyond anything else able to sell to an audience that what he's doing is believable, at all times, just with his eyes and delivery. There's no debate because it's undeniable the impact he's had. It's churlish to pretend otherwise, whether you like him or not.

Depends on what you appreciate when it comes to ring work. Saying Punk is below average is crazy considering in his prime he was always having great iconic matches. That old saying "Big braggers have small waggers" applies to him lol he's proven outside of WWE he can't actually fight so him being a "tough guy" isn't believable. Given what you believe about his AEW stuff backstage, he's proven that he'll go off the rails of things don't go his way. I think nostalgia and him still being able to talk is what keeps him relevant not the fact that he clearly can't go and has been carried most of his career in the ring. I was done with him personally after his AEW run, anytime he comes up on TV or has a match i just fast forward through it or go use the bathroom lol

Dave never said he hated the show look at the comment he said it was an easy show to watch and he enjoyed it. There was a lot of memorable moments and for me the moments make this a really memorable show because almost every match I remember. The Dawning of Gunther as the world champion, Judgement Day implodes, Bron's ascension, Nia Jax wins the Women's title, Dom turns on Rhea Ripley, Roman Reigns epic return and Cm Punk's in ring return. But was there one match where you will remember six months from now? There was no match that was blow away on the show. I enjoyed the Punk and Mcintyre match but the criticism that this was supposed to be a blood feud and you excepted the match to be a little more intense vs the bracelet drama that we got that is valid criticism. Dave is entitled to this opinion and the matches he gives five stars a vast majority of the time they are story driven matches both in the build up and during the match itself. Just because he was never in the business does not mean he can't review wrestling just like movie reviewers. There are a lot of guys in the business that respect Meltzer's opinion he is more of a historian of the business and knows and studies the business.

Imo : CM Punk is one of the most complete wrestlers in the world today . He can talk on the mic and always comes off organic with everything that he does . You don’t know if he’s going off the cuff or just saying the script and every arena that he comes to explodes when his music hits . And He can still kinda go in the ring too but he’s been doing this since the early 2000’s so naturally it’s gonna start to happen more at this stage . In that case Daniel Brian has been washed and so has edge . The one thing everyone forgets is that CM Punk worked his way up to the main event scene that everyone seems define his whole body of work off of . He was in the mid card scene for years and started off in the developmental ECW . Hes done a lot of character work and had great matches with everyone . Hell in 2007 he was facing Chris Benoit for the ECW title . He’s been around for a while and he deserves to venture out and come back when he wants . He’s put in the work for years for the wrestling community lol .
