Aside from elephants in the wild this is the only other way tourists should experience elephants. ENP is an amazing sanctuary for rescued elephants and it’s exactly how sanctuaries should be. It’s so upsetting to see tourists riding elephants and I wonder if they had done any research on how these beautiful animals are treated in order for them to be tamed enough for people to ride them.

nola’s life every agency will ask you to complete a medical form that has to be signed off by your doctor. my best advice is to be honest with the camp that you talk to

BryonysBucketlist thanks for the advice! I’m still young and won’t be a counselor for a few years but, I was just wondering. Maybe I’ll even outgrow some of my worries by the time I’m old enough. Thanks again!

Did you have a video on your online application as well? The Australian representative who contacted me to do a background check said it was a good idea to have a video but was required and I would love to have on offer from a camp like this!
@bryonykay_4 жыл бұрын
Emily Mae i did have a video on my Camp America profile. I know it’s suggested but not compulsory for the application but it does give the camp a better insight to you before interviewing & potentially better your application

Hi Bryony, this camp looked amazing!! I have also just applied and I am waiting to hear back to get an interview! How long did you have to wait to hear back and do you have any tips on what to do?
@bryonykay_4 жыл бұрын
Riley York i applied really late in the season so my interview, hiring & visa process was all really quick & done within 3 weeks. at this time of year lots of camps are hiring & out recruiting around the US schools so sit tight, the right camp will contact you soon enough. good luck

im doing this trip soon ! would love to hear a review of how it all went down - what you liked and didnt like ect :)
@bryonykay_6 жыл бұрын
Nicole Patton i liked the Melbourne - Alice Springs part of the trip more than the east coast! but that’s just personal opinion. the only optional i did was the Great Barrier Reef & highly recommend. maybe don’t swim with the dolphins in Adelaide, i did it in New Zealand for half the price & saw 100x more than the girls did in Australia
@TheLoveingit6 жыл бұрын
BryonysBucketlist oh wow ok thanks ! And how did u find the activities that were included? We’re u disappointed with anything ? How were the included meals as well ? What was it about the east vs the south and outback that made u like the south and outback more?
@bryonykay_6 жыл бұрын
Nicole Patton loved all of the included activities! the evening meals & the breakfast were great but we all got really fed up with the lunches quick that we bought our own. I’m simply just not that excited by beaches & islands after traveling south east asia so i much preferred the scenic Melbourne - Alice leg
@TheLoveingit6 жыл бұрын
BryonysBucketlist what was it about the lunches that annoyed you ... and what generally were the meals? Did u find that there was enough time to see the included activity and spots ?
@bryonykay_6 жыл бұрын
Nicole Patton it was the same wraps & 3 fillings options so after 29 days you’re pretty fed up of wraps! loads of time to do the included activities

This looks amazing!! I'd love to do that one day (I'm scared that if I apply no one would hire me because of my anxiety and due to my lack of experience). It looks like so much fun!!! Singing, camp fires, fun - I'd love that, just the travelling and anticipation (and worrying things would go wrong) is holding me back... Xxxx
@bryonykay_6 жыл бұрын
Annie Basson they do ask on your camp America application of any history of anxiety or depression & a medical form from your GP. It’s the best thing I’ve ever done & highly recommend everyone & anyone to apply. doing it with an agency almost always guarantees placement. if you have a sporting skill or arts, cooking, climbing, water sports they want you! go for it, you never know if you don’t try!! don’t stress about traveling, just wing it. you will meet so many people at camp that want to do the same thing

Hi, im thinking of applying for a camp this year (to be a counsellor) however im wondering if you need any experinece of working with children to be one? can you give me any advice
@bryonykay_6 жыл бұрын
Glyn Weaver no previous experience required with children to be a general counselor however, if the camp requires you to teach an activity & be a camp counselor experience teaching the chosen activity with children is recommended
