It's good to draw inspiration from such a master photographer. Although shooting digitally, I retain a love of the natural world and make few changes - seeking to reflect nature with humility and honesty. MK is inspirational.

I think I've had this in my Watch Later for about ten years. No clue what I was watching/listening to when I was thirteen that made this pop up in my recommends at the time.

Of course he’s using a light meter, the prism viewfinder also has a light meter in it, he uses a hasselblad PM5. Michael is the best photographer of all time but he’s not God for knowing the exposure value of a particular situation, although he’s been photographing for many decades so he has the experience and being the Pro he is he can guess an exposure based on experience, although he relies on the light meters to get it spot on so to speak. You can see him thinking and creating ideas of the final image in his mind before taking a shot or a series of shots with different settings applied. The hasselblad system is also particularly convenient because the aperture and speed is displayed on the lenses, so it’s pretty easy to manipulate and even calculate the time of exposure. It’s one thing to rock the equipment, to take the amazing pictures and scenery he shoots is another. If you see the patience and the number of shots he takes of a particular tree, you can only wonder the amount of post production work involved, including the selection of the best pictures... Michael is a beast, you see his whole body of work you can only be overwhelmed by it. So many iconic images... dream pictures.. But the work he puts on cannot even be grasped by anyone, and that’s pretty much his secret. He works all day everyday... beast
