My Post-'Black album' rankings** are *almost identical* to yours, brotha! Even some of the same sentiments & thoughts on albums 'Hardwired... ', '72 Seasons', 'Reload', and 'St. Anger'. The only difference in ranking is placement of 'Load'. I think it's "decent" and you think it's "great". I do think you hit the nail on the head in describing 'Load(s)' era as the major drop-off of original fans of the band. The fact you astutely, and honestly, pointed out the fact you may hold ~at least to some extent~ 'Load' to such a high degree b/c of sentimental value further shows the depth of your analytical mentality. I appreciate your opinions b/c you effectively articulated them with reason. I think I may be a few years younger than you, but hold a lot of the same opinions whilst attempting to combine subjective taste in music and objectively judging an album based on it's substance. 🤟🏽 Rock on, brotha!! ** Post-'Black album' Rankings: 1. (Tie) '72 Seasons' (2023) 1. (Tie) 'Hardwired... to Self-destruct!' (2016) 3. 'Death Magnetic' (2008) 4. 'Load' (1996) 5. Reload' (1997) 6. 'St. Anger' (2003) >> Likewise, I do enjoy the covers that Metallic has made, but can't consider 'Garage Inc.' as part of the Ranking list.

@@dookester.manoftruth7773 I appreciate the kind words my friend and I completely agree with you about Garage Inc. Truth be told I just wanted to show it in the video. Haha. For me, a lot of these albums were difficult to rank and if I did it again today the order would be completely different. Death magnetic might be number two or even number one but all through the years load has maintained that number one spot and I honestly do believe as you noticed that it's probably due to sentimental reasons because of the time in my life in which it came out. I honestly do believe that had a lot to do with it. It's all subjective to each other's opinions and that's what I love about it. We can all be big fans and have little differences in what we like about certain albums and I think that's what makes metal fans awesome is because we'll discuss things like this And each time I read somebody else's opinions, I can respect them. And I might think about my rankings a little differently based off the things that they said that it might not have thought about

I can listen to St Anger at all. The drums are so horrible, and don't like the sound of James vocals either. He had quit smoking and drinking and it changed his voice. The best and worst thing about St Anger is the Some Kind of Monster documentary. I liked Death Magnetic at the time, but never spin it now. The best songs from that album are the ones on Beyond Magnetic. I listen to that from time to tome, but never Death Magnetic. I would say 7. St Anger 6. Death Magnetic 5. 72 Seasons 4. Reload 3. Hard Wired 2. Garage Inc and 1. Load. I still play Load pretty regularly...it's just so damn long. About 45 minutes in I'm done. They and Iron Maiden both have the same issue. Too many yes men. But the 80's not only had hair/party metals bands like Motley Crue, Ratt, and hundreds more... but also had the beginning of thrash and more extreme metal, but it had videos on MTV that we could all see our favorite bands playing right there on our TV's. The 80's didn't just have the audio to the greatest bands of the era but the video as well. Great choices...Viking and Intruder are two of my favorites, all of the albums from both are killer. I need to check out Razor again. I checked em out a few years ago, but something about the singers voice bothered me. Wouldn't mind running across original pressings of the Paradox albums. I have Heresy on CD, but that's it.

Give razor another go. I think the vocals make it. I really do. Just fits in my opinion. Would love to hear your thoughts after you give em a new listen
