I also transcribed this solo, as a comission from someone. And yes... The arpeggio section was a giant pain in the ass, esp. since I'm a perfectionist.

Great transcription! Might want to put some sharps in the key signature though 😅 since the tune is in D# minor. Makes it tough to read when almost every note has a sharp accidental next to it. But very nice work nonetheless!

Wow haha just stumbled on this - yes, Anomalie used to perform with us back in the day! We hosted a weekly freestyle hip-hop/soul jam session and he was part of the house band. We still exist but no longer host an open jam session, we focus on the band as an improvised music project. Thanks for transcribing this, brought back some great memories!

Beautiful rendition and great job on the transcription, thank you. This was recorded in 1958 before he lost most of his teeth. For me this was when he was at his best. From 3:51 it flows, not rushed, perfect phrasing, pure Chet.

The Genius of a Jazz Great is knowing exactly where you are in the song; not getting lost or caught up in your playing without LISTENING! Also, his rhythm is impeccable - forget the notes because if you play them without rhythm then all is lost. Not getting lost in the song and rhythm are the 2 things that make a Jazz Great - but if you can play some good notes along the way, that's a plus.)
