Question, what is point of the bracket if you are just cutting off half?
@freestatehomestead11 күн бұрын
Great question. So the bracket was for when we were going to post frame the house but when we switched to ICF they had to get cut down to fit in the block.

What's the cost to make a house like this??
@freestatehomestead19 күн бұрын
That’s a great question so the blocks get more affordable the more you buy so the size of the house matters. Also the cost of concrete in your area will be a huge factor. Chris as Rost ICF Supply can walk you through the cost break down super fast.

This is the definition of rushing your flying to go solo.first of all he didn't know the preflight and safety checks off by heart ,are you going to grab your check-list out if you have a cable break or any other emergencys.Secondly he came in a little fast on final and didn't flare the aircraft he let the nose drop and the aircraft hit the ground with too much speed and bounced multiple times and thirdly he failed to keep the wings level on landing witch caused a ground loop.

This kid was not ready to solo. The randomness of some of the calls, the lack of rudder taking off or landing (couldnt identify the left crosswind himself). Lots of adverse yawing on final and no hint of left wing low causing the downwind wing to drag... I get the nervousness of a first solo, but he was poorly prepared by his CFI. I've got to ask, where is 600 ft or a museum when he's landing out 100 miles from home in a random field? Teach this kid to land anywhere, not at one airport in ideal conditions. This is 100% on poor instruction.

So the way I dealt with this I got the special bags with a water spout on one side so I fill the bags with the ice. And then I put some water in the cooler and then I buy an ice machine and I put it in the back of my truck and I let the ice machine run, then every couple hours I go and I pour the water from the bags back into the ice machine and I fill the bags back up with ice. It makes the ice last longer this way and you recycle the water
@freestatehomesteadАй бұрын
And at that point I could have afforded a real AC unit 😂

Sorry to say that, but to me this is the most unprofessional solo flight preparation I've ever seen. First solo flight and the first priority is "camera setup and rolling"? Not strapped in when canopy closed? No rudder check (at least in the end he sort of did it)? No airbrake check? How many people are interfering and distracting him? Landing technique good in the approach - touchdown with nose first, PIOed, initiated a ground loop with full left rudder. Close to an accident I'd say. No immediate de-briefing after that landing? I'm not sure if that poor guy was really ready for this - I think I never see someone so stressed prior to his first solo flight (I've been instructing since over 30 years).
@amelia_glider_pilot16Ай бұрын
Very well done for a first solo. Make sure you’ve got all those emergencies procedures drilled into your head because you can’t get a checklist out when it’s actually happening. For first solo, a nice calm environment is ideal. A couple of people there to help if needed. No external distracts like Cameras!

Someone drilled the fun out of him! Those are not flaps, that's the spoiler. You set your attitude and use the spoilers like a throttle, he came in with too much speed. Just relax.

I did not buy this item to cool any areas or rooms, but for when I lose power during spring/summer storms in N Texas. I turned off my home AC, and just ran it blowing on me sitting in my chair as if I lost power. And I have to say it is perfect for this purpose. I don't expect something like this to cool a room, or RV space, I just want it to cool me, and I see having it as a plus...Thanks for the video though...

Did you do any steel structural framing to help support the concrete roof and beams? How much uninterrupted concrete will separate the basement from surface level? Enough to block radiation?
@freestatehomestead4 ай бұрын
So the LiteDeck is the for it has a ton of steel rebar in it and maybe you saw the massive rebar beam in the middle. There is a massive wooden skeletal structure underneath during the pour and while it cures then it’s removed. As to thickness we went with about 16 inch’s for that very reason.
