So, I didn't realize that there us a test for monovision!!! Is this available in the United States of America??? I've never seen this before!!! Wish my eye doctor had used this for me.....he did surgery on the both eyes and gave me monovision without telling me anything!!!😮 Are the European doctors ahead of the American doctors?? I bet you are!!! Wish I could have been seen by your clinic before my surgeries.!!! I live in the little state of Rhode Island in the USA. Thanks for the great channel. I have learned a lot already 😊. God bless you, All. Miss Monique 🙂🌷🙏🕊️

I just had surgery on both eyes, but my doctor never told me he was going to give me monovision!!! I had to figure it out by myself!!!😢😮 I still can't afford to get my new prescription for my glasses 😞. I'm pretty mad at my doctor for not communicating with me or even telling me what he was going to do 😑. I don't care if he is a Doctor.... ethically not right for not telling me!!!!!!😮😮😮😮😮😮 Thanks for the video, I learned quite a bit on how to deal with this new monovision. The exercies do help train my eyes and my brain. I didn't realize that neuroplasticity could be used in conjunction with the eyes and eye surgery. When you need to do surgery on your patients do you give them any type of education about their upcoming surgery?? Are they informed??? I thought this video was very well done 👍. And I do thank you for your help today. What should i do with the doctor that I have???? I will indeed subscribe!!! Thanks again, Miss Monique 🙂🌷🙏🕊️

I had 20/20 vision until the mid forties when I got readers. Around 60 I started to notice I didn't need readers as much. Over the next few years I discovered I was getting natural monovision. In my late 60s I discovered I had cataracts. What to do? I opted for monovision at 69 and now have slightly better than 20/20 vision and can read the finest print - WITHOUT GLASSES. If your brain is up to it I think it is a wonderful option. I do think if you don't have natural monovision you should do a trial first with contacts or glasses - JUST IN CASE YOU CAN'T ADAPT. I ordered several cheap trial glasses from Zenni to determine the correct diopter for my near eye. Ended up at 1.60.

I had this done, currently, six days ago (tuesday 26th). I’m no longer light sensitive but I do not have 20/20 vision, my vision is much better than it was without glasses but not fully healed; the doctors said it could take 7 to 14 days for my vision to return but also said it could take up to a month. The surgery was painless for me and actually interesting to experience, it was the after which has made the whole experience not worth it to me. I was not mentally prepared and did not actually mind wearing my glasses, so, becomming helpless to the point of being able to do nothing but stay in total darkness - which at times still felt too bright - was one of the worst experiences of my life mentally. As well as the pain and the lack of control I had of my eyes. If I could go back I would not get this done. Personally, if you really hate wearing glasses, spent most of your life in contacts and it’s something that bothers you, then look into it. If you aren’t too bothered about your glasses or lenses I would say it was not worth it and I would not get it done.

Just had this procedure today, Wednesday, at 10AM in the UK at Optimax. I'll give an update on Monday, when I have the contact bandages removed. Currently, my eyes are burning immensely with an itching sensation. I cannot even fully open my eyes, and I am susceptible to light. Moreover, my short-sighted vision has completely worsened, and I cannot even read the basic writing on my smartphone, even the text on this video, I had to zoom in at 150%+ on my laptop screen to remotely even see a bit of text. I phoned the surgeon, and he said that it was all normal.Right now, I am in my room in total darkness while wearing sunglasses.

You really don't need a bunch of phorometry to test it. I prefer a simpe, real-world approauch. Give them contacts in both orientations and let them wear each for a couple of days in the real world. No testing in the exam room can substitute for the patient trying it in their day-to-day life. Also, none of your tests looked at at near point either. Lastly, re-green doesn't work for colo- deficient people. I've fit thousands of pts with mono and I can do all kinds of testing in the exam room to try to determine which eye for near or far, only to have the patient switch to the other when they are out of the office.

I had mono vision contacts (one eye only), then got mono vision lasik in right eye. For me, Seeing close out of left eye is best, Seeing medium out of right eye is best. (arms length to 1 house away, this includes computer use and tv from the couch). But seeing christmas lights down the street, the stars, or night driving.. The best possible vision I can get is still wearing glasses with 1 prescription lens in my reading non lasik eye to make it see distance. Sometimes its not about forcing one eye to do all the work, Its about the truth that mono-vision isn't a perfect solution and for some people glasses still may be the best option, in certain circumstances. I'm still thrilled I got lasik monovision in my right eye, cuz I can see the computer and the tv and drive in the day without glasses! I can still drive at night with out glasses, but its much nicer with them!

Spot on. I’d been intuitively working this out since my surgery, but the tips are good. As a long term myopic person I was very keen to preserve some near sight. With the distance vision I agree that you need to relax the distance eye and let it do it’s job. After squinting and straining for years it’s a challenge to ignore the near sighted eyes attempts to join in.
